Upscale in/near Redwood City?

Azure is on El Camino and Town is on Laurel St -- both in San Carlos. Town has a very busy bar and can be extremely loud. Azure has nicer food and is quiet to the point of sedate. Neither of them are in the same league as Village Pub in Woodside or Viognier in San Mateo, which are better choices for serious upscale food and wine.

Palo Alto: Kids-Friendly Restaurants?

University Ave. is filled with casual restaurants serving past and pizza, wraps, asian, etc. There are also lots of choices on California Ave. There is no reason to resort to a chain.

Passover food on the Peninsula

Can anyone suggest markets on the Peninsula with the best selection of foods for Passover?

San Mateo "date" places

Lure. I've only been once, but I keep meaning to get back there. Good food. Good date night vibe.

Best Milkshake in SF or Peninsula?

The Peninsula Creamery at Emerson and Hamilton in Palo Alto makes an extremely respectable milkshake in many fine flavors. You can get them to go, too.

3 days with Baby on Union Street

You are right by Rose's -- a very yummy neighborhood spot, especially in the morning. The baked goods are great. Let your daughter enjoy a muffin while you have the smoked salmon pizza with scrambled eggs and creme fraiche.

Town in San Carlos?

Not to discuss the food, but the management of the place -- "the group" that owns Town, Milagros, etc. is a local family. I do not know them personally, but I know of their very strong support for community programs.

Town, Giuliana's, and Divino are 3 very different restaurants. Town is bigger and slicker than the other 2 and has a busy bar, so perhaps that is what you mean by corporate, but I don't think that the only definition of a family restaurant means dad cooks and mom runs the front of the house.

Bar at Gary Danko?

We are looking forward to going to Gary Danko for the first time on Sunday. Our reservation is for 9 pm, so we have plenty of time of a before dinner drink. Should we just go a little early and have a drink at the bar or is there a better choice for a before dinner drink nearby?

Pumpkin Patch Treats

There are a number of places in HMB (and elsewhere perhaps) that set up pumpkin patches this time of year. Do any of them serve pumpkin pie or other treats that are actually tasty? The one we visited last year (not sure of the name, sorry) served food that was indifferent at best.

Outdoor seating for lunch in Mid-Peninsula

Some friends are looking for place for a "nice" lunch where they can sit outside and take advantage of the weather. Somewhere between PA and Burlingame would work best.
