Best Korean food in Cleveland?

Seoul Hot Pot is one the best restaurants in Cleveland. The cook-it yourself Kalbi is awesome.... although I've had better Bulgo Gi in other states. I also recommend the Chicken Stew (it's my favorite Cleveland chicken dish: spicy bone in chincken parts stewed with root vegetables). And ofcourse the Bee Bim Bop is excellent.

The restaurant also has a great story behind it. Run by a wife and husband for over 15 years... originally started up as a pizza place (you can see "Angelo's Pizza" faintly through the sign out front), and gradually became a Korean restaurant as the clientelle began to favor traditional dishes over Italian food.

You must check this place out!

Best Shanghai Food in Toronto

T.O Chowhounders,

I will be visiting Toronto soon, and wanted to know where I can get the best Shanghai style food? I am craving Xiao Lung Bao. Any place close to down town would be preferred. Additionally, what is the best place for dim sum? Where is the best chinese vegetarian restaurant?

Thanks!

Deli near Shaker Heights, OH

Another joint to try is "Goodman's Sandwich Inn". They have the best corned beef I have ever tried... and they make it from scratch! The place has been there forever, and you can tell from the dent in butcher block in the window how much hand carved corned beef has gone through the place.

I'd like to try Mr Brisket and compare!!!

Cincinnati Style Chili in Cleveland?

Can anyone tell me where I can get Cincinnati style chili in Cleveland (besides Skyline). They had it on the brunch menu at Lucky's Cafe last year, and it was killer. I hope they bring it back someday. In the meantime..... any recommendations?

Aribel's is a Chowhound Gem in Minneapolis

Dear fellow hounds,

I'm visiting Minneapolis and just went to Aribel's tonight. What a find! They serve Guyana cuisine... which is a blend of Caribbean, Chinese, and Indian. They specialise in curries... and it's absolutely amazing. a must try for any serious foodie! This is truly a unique restaurant.

Thanks to all MSP chow hounds to pointing this place out!

Cleveland: asian market?

Chinese store:
Asia Food
3126 Saint Clair Ave NE, Cleveland, OH
(216) 621-1681
They have mainly Chinese, but also many other Asian regions

Korean:
Korea House
3700 Superior Ave E, Cleveland, OH
(216) 431-0462
There is a restaurant next to it... but my personal preference is Seoul Hot Pot.... if you want good Korean food, you definately need to go to Seoul Hot Pot!!!

Unfortunately, I do not know of any good Japanese greocery stores in the Cleveland area. The closest one I know about is in the Columbus area.

Enjoy!

Detroit Restaurant Recommendation Needed

Hello all,

I will be visiting downtown Detroit for 4 days and could really use some breakfast / lunch / dinner recommendations from the locals. I am on a budget, so I would like to keep lunches to about $10-$20 and dinners $15-$30.

Thanks!

Sunday Brunch/Breakfast Cleveland

I second lyn's recommendation of Lucky's Cafe. I go there almost every week. The best brunch in Cleveland! Great quality local fare. My favorite dish is the Sausage Gravy over scrambled eggs and cheddar biscuits with scallions.

A couple weeks ago they were offerring a Cincinatti style chili, which was AMAZING. I was sad to see that item leave the menu.

Good Cooking Chicken in Cleveland

Fellow Clevelanders...

I am on a quest to find the freshest and best tasting chicken for myself to cook. I often buy from the Corn-Fed Chicken place in West Side market... but I tried roasting a whole chicken from them... and found little flavour in the meat. Does anybody have any places for me to try?

Thanks.

INDIANAPOLIS

I have been to Indianapolis a few times for business trips... and I highly recommend:

The Rathskeller - An amazing German restaurant. Has a great selection of beers from Belgium, Germany, England and more. The food is reasonably priced and very tasty!

St Elmo - a pricey steakhouse... but worth every penny. The shrimp cocktail is phenomenal... I still don't know how they get the cocktail sauce so spicy!!!!

Good luck!
