RAVE - La Traviatta (AUS)

My husband and I had our anniversary dinner at La Traviatta last night and were blown away. The entire meal was delicious; starting with a fig, marscarpone and prosciutto bruschetta, moving to yummy caesar and beet salads, then on to a beef tenderloin (cooked a beautiful, deep pink medium rare) with gorgonzola, crispy polenta and broccoli rabe for my husband and a delicious fettucini w/ cream, chanterelle mushrooms, fresh fava beans and truffle oil* for me. Each dish was prepared perfectly (there might have been a touch too much dressing on the salads) and the flavors were impeccable. Since we really haven't heard to much about La Traviatta, we were really surprised at the caliber of food. Run, don't walk.

*My pasta was the special that night, so I can't guarantee that it will be there when you go. Go tonight to catch it!!

Fino opinions? (AUS)

Thanks for the great tips! The dinner was last night and we ended up at La Traviatta based on a friend's recommendation. WOW! We were so impressed. It was seriously delicious and the service was impeccable. We haven't heard much about that place, so we were surprised at how fabulous it was. I think I'll post a detailed rave about it in a separate post so others will go.

Fino opinions? (AUS)

Anyone have a good review of Fino in Austin? My friends have all raved, but there are some pretty unfavorable reviews on Citysearch.

If Fino isn't your choice, where would you recommend an anniversary dinner? (Keep in mind, this is take two on our anniversary dinner celebration since the first try was terrible in San Antonio.)
