Leeannaray's Profile
N. Branford/Branford, CT
I think Marco's is the best pizza in Branford. For breakfast or lunch Cohen's Bagels is good. For that matter so is the Waiting Station. Both are right on Main street across from the green. Jersey Mike's on rt 1 has good subs. And the indian at Darbar is delicous.
Cheese Shops in Connecticut
Fromage in Old Saybrook. They do have other things, but as the name suggests, cheese is their focus.
Authentic Sushi
Inase on 1586 1st Ave between 82nd and 83rd. Every time I've been there the diners have been almost exclusively japanese. As is the sushi chef/owner and all the staff.
Butcher in the New Haven area
I grew up on the the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and went to Oppenheimer Meat. So what I really want is something like that. If you're in the city you should check them out. They're located on Broadway and 98th street.
Butcher in the New Haven area
Thanks for the tip. Any specific restaurants? What happened to Madison meats?
Butcher in the New Haven area
We've been to Forte's, and it's really good, but I was hoping to find a really traditional kind of butcher that does nothing but meat of all kinds. Forte's just doesn't have the variety I'm looking for.
Butcher in the New Haven area
Does anyone know of a good butcher in the New Haven area? I live in Branford and there a number of good fishmongers, but I haven't found a really great butcher.
Sushi - Upper East Side
Since we were celebrating our anniversary, we decided to indulge ourselves. Have you had the "extras" that come with the omakase previously? They were delicious. We had sea eel tempura, uni chawanmushi, and the soup was full of clams. They mistakenly gave us an order of the grilled squid, which was the tenderest squid I've ever had. It was wonderful meal, though I did feel like I needed to be rolled out of there.
Sushi - Upper East Side
We were there at 6:30 and it was pretty empty. But after a while a group of about eight people came in, and then a group of four came in. So they were doing some business. They were also packing up some things for either pick up or delivery while we were there.
Sushi - Upper East Side
I was cruising the Manhattan board a few days ago, looking for the same thing as the original poster. Thanks to MMRuth's reccomendation my husband and I made a reservation at Inase, for Friday night. We had a wonderful meal. We both ordered the $80 omakase. We were asked if we wanted japanese fish, or just american. We chose to have anything the chef thought was good. Everything was delicious, and we were completely stuffed. So I just wanted to say thanks to MMRuth for the reccomendation, and second it.
