Persian Room
great place, the portions are the same at lunch and dinner but cheaper at lunch. Dinner service is nice with the fresh baked pitas.
Lumpia Factory Chandler (PHX)
was in the mood for some filipino breakfast this weekend. I haven't been to Lumpia Factory in a long time and sad to see it has closed down.
Burgers!!!
when the outdoor grills are going at AJ's they have some very tasty fresh burgers.
I'd also recommend the burgers at Lobby's slightly north of southern and McClintock. Tempe.
Takeda Thai by Moulay- Scottsdale, AZ
Just tried Takeda after viewing the review tonight. I ordered the Roti canai and Pad Prik Khing and a beer. The portion size is pretty small compared to Thai house, Swadee or Osha but i was impressed of the freshness of the vegetables. Its a tad expensive for the value IMO but again maybe i'm paying for the "upscale atmosphere". If the prices are halved for lunch with same portions I had, then it would make sense.
Atlantic City Hot Dogs
do you know if they used a particular vendor for thier hotdogs? ie, the hotdog carts around AC use Sabrett

Apple Cider and Apple Cider Doughnuts
if you're coming up from the Jersey shore to Philly, Simones Apple Farm in Vineland, NJ usually has unpasturized cider http://www.cumberlandnewjersey.com/city/Vineland/business/Simones+Apple+Farm
Review: Little Rangoon - Scottsdale
definitely mixed reviews here. I'll have to try this place for myself. I have close family friends that own the Rangoon restaurant in Philly and alot of the food there is very flavorful and the spicy dishes spicy. I hope not to be over critical because i dont have much experience eating Burmese food elsewhere.
Best Phoenix Thai
wow..plenty of suggestions for me to try.
in N.scottsdale i prefer Osha Thai on FLW , slightly north of shea, over Swaddee and Malee's
Why are all the Chinese restaurants in Central Phoenix a bad facsimile of Panda Express?
i've been in the area for 3 years now..so far my favorite is Tao Garden in chandler. I always enjoy thier steamed tilapia with ginger/scallion. I have yet to try Diamonds but hear rave reviews from the board and a few office folks
phx metro cheesesteak recommendation?
Coming from philly/SJ..i almost fell flat on the floor when i saw my tab at Corleone's. They make a good cheesesteak, however they are on the stingy side when it comes to the amount of whiz or provolone on the sandwich.
I will be checking out Mancini's soon, i met someone on my flight back to philly over the holidays whom grew up in Philly and has been a longtime PHX resident mention it with rave reviews.
What I ate in Philly! Ocean Harbor, Horizons, Rangoon, Tamarind Thai, Fu Wah Tofu Hoagie
where is Fu Wah located? That sounds so good..i'll be back in philly in the spring.
I can't say i've been to Tamarind, but Rangoon has been a long time favorite when im in the mood for Burmese food.
Where to buy a turducken in philly?
Is D'Angelos the one that you can see rabbits, pheasants, etc hanging in the window streetside? If i recall..its on the opposite side of the street as George's.
Where to buy a turducken in philly?
greetings Chowhounds, i'lll be back in the philly area for the rest of the holidays and want to treat the folks to a turducken. I recently had my first experience during thanksgiving and want others to have this experience. For those who haven't tried, its a deboned chicken thats stufffed into a deboned duck, and into a deboned turkey, ..save for legs and wings. Between the layers some sort of stuffing. The one i had had a crawfish jambalaya stuffing between the layers :)
Anyways, are there any places to order/buy one in the SJ/Philly area?
Nee House: AZ not ready for real Chinese cuisine
i have to give Nee house another chance. I walked in on a sunday afternoon and chose a fried tofu w vegetables dish and the chicken and salt fish fried rice.
The tofu dish turned out good, but most chinese places can't screw that up.
The fried rice was not desireble to say the least, perhaps the chef was out.
I really wanted to give the fried rice a fair comparison to the chicken/fish fried rice at Tao Garden which is delicious. I often order it to go and enjoy the leftovers for breakfast to accompany some fried eggs.
on a positive note, i was impressed with thier vast menu
Suggestions for Thai food n.scottsdale/phx area?
Looking for more Thai selections in the N. scottsdale/phx area. or maybe as far south as chandler since i ocaissonally will head down to Lee Lee.
So far the two i like the best are Osha on FLW near Shea and Thaipan at pinacle peak.
Best Mexican spots in Scottsdale area
not too familiar with south scottsdale, but if you venture to n. scottsdale, my list of favs are..
Cantina Laredo
Abuelos
Los Olivos
i can possibly keep going back and i dont go out of the way for mexican food as a preference
Hot dogs phx/scttsdl
you're right...overpriced but there really isnt much in terms of selection for non chain casual food up in n.scottsdale that i've come across but none the less an option for the OP.
Hot dogs phx/scttsdl
Try dickies dogs on e. bell rd in scottsdale. They are chicago style and offer your choice of steamed or charred on the grill. Also offering turkey dogs my friend raves about. I personally go for the charred chicago dog and a grilled Italian sausage. If any room for dessert they have cheesecake on a stick ;)
Irie Jamaican Restaurant in Phoenix
is Irie still open? im craving for some jerk chicken and oxtails
Hawaiian food or Filipino food
+1 for pinoy pinay..i always stop in there on my way into vegas, fyi..its very close to stratosphere
The Codfather - on Bell Rd - is it open?
I drove by there the other day..it appears to be open but i havent tried it yet
Fish and Chips - Phx/Scottsdale area
Skeptikal Chymist is my fav in the scottsdale area, my #2 choice would be Broker's. They're on the corner of scottsdale road and bell.
