Eggplant Parmesan
Can you believe GG didn't have any Eggpland Parmesan yesterday.. LOL
Good thing I only traveled 1/2 a mile to get there.
We ordered squid ink pasta meh! fettucini al porcini meh! calamari fritti meh!
pizza with tartufo good but soupy, arucola pizza also good but soupy. Great wine, super Tuscan and a house white I had never heard of, tiramisu more custard than cake and a napoleon type desert meh! Overall I think GG is slipping a bit although the service was righ t on.
Eggplant Parmesan
all I want for mothersday is a great plate of Eggplant Parmesan.
Preferabally a sit down rest with decent atmosphere and service.
Late night dinner on Lower Cape in the winter
Thanks for the recs! As it turns out The Land Ho serves until 10:00 but ended up eating earlier in P-Town @ Fanizzis. Nice place, great salmon, chowder, service and wine.
Will be back!
Late night dinner on Lower Cape in the winter
Does such a thing exist. Not terribly picky since I imagine there aren't many options.
I know the Land Ho serves until 10:00 but I might need later.
Can't stop thinking about Cape Cod!! Need suggestions for summer seafood near Brewster.
Right next to Brewster is Orleans where we live and absolutely swear by Cooke's. The food is always fresh, amazing fried clams, the place is immaculate and the chowder is better than Sir Crickets. Only nice thing about Orleans Inn is the view. I've had terrible food there. Much rather brave the crowds at the LAND HO or Joes (Barley Neck Inn) The food at Liams on Nauset Beach (same owners as Kates I believe) is yummy and you can get in for dinner without paying beach fees after 5:00. Great for an evening dinner on the beach. On Monday night there are free concerts. Here's a best kept secret........ Head over to Rock Harbor in Orleans and get a Lobster Roll @ Hatch's seafood market. No place to sit there but the lobster roll is great, cheap by comparison to others and you can walk to the other end of the lot and enjoy the harbor view. There are some benches. Sometimes we order fries from Captain Cass next door and have them with the Lobster Rolls. Don't bother with Captain Cass otherwise. It's touristy and expensive. On Rock Harbor you will also see the charters coming in with some big catches which is fun for kids.
Grand Sichuan Times Square
We are going with a large group to the theater and were wondering if this is a good place to eat?
We want Chinese and it would be more convenient than trucking to C-Town.
Has anyone been here recently and if the experience was good, what was ordered?
Chinatown East Broadway........ do I remember correctly?
That's it! NICE restaurant. Sad they are all gone. Where do people who liked that go now?
Chinatown East Broadway........ do I remember correctly?
I used to frequent 2 excellent chinese restaurants that were next door to each other on East Broadway and can't recall the names of either. They atmosphere in both places was very nice and several cuts above most CT holes in the wall. Does anyone remember them and are either still good or there?
This goes back about 15 years now. Each restaurant had round tables both 8's and 12's which is what I a looking for but the food must be top notch. I don't even know where to begin it's been that long.
Miso Mart (Japanes Market in Porter Square)
Miso is Soso.
I prefer Reliable in Union Square and the Korean market just North of MISO next to Hana Sushi.

Better to take out at Quingdao Garden? Just had a very middling meal.
I had dinner there the other night and it was so bad that I suspected that the chef had been replaced. Anyone else had a similar experience?
Which new Mexican-ish place should I visit first?
Not on your list but tried Acitron on Mass Ave in Arlington two weeks ago.
What a great surprise we had. Beautiful but simple dining room, cozy bar, friendly servers, great drinks (albiet expensive @ 12.00 per) and very tasty Chow. My husband had a pork dish that came out like a big timbale of shredded meat. Very deep flavors and perfectly cooked.
I had a few tacos and some guacamole served with these very unsusual house made chips. Only downer is they ran out when I requested more of them. We will be back and are excited to see this addition to the already good Arlington dining scene.
Festive Birthday Lunch Mid Week on Mid Cape
Is there anything open yet that serves a fabulous and somewhat upscale lunch Brewster, Orleans or Wellfleet??
Dave's Pasta In Davis Square, Somerville; What IS My Problem??
I though it was just me........... the fresh cut to order pasta is not all that.
However there is so much more to love about Daves. The pumpkin ravioli with smoked tomato cream sauce has always been a perfect match, the wines are unusual and reliable,
they use real glass for their wine tasting (very unusual) and everyone who works there is nice. It's one stop shopping, high quality, fairly priced and great sandwiches and a good scene.
Quindao Garden North Cambridge
Does anyone know if they plan to reopen?
My friend is having dumpling withdrawl.

Best Foodie Suburb for nearlyweds seeking house?
As a foodie first (I couldn't imagine living far from the thing I love most) and a very good real estate agent, I suggest you buy in either Union Square or West Medford. Not only because of the proximity to good food all the time but because the Green Line extension is due to come in by 2014. Your real estate value will really take off and when you go to sell you can have lots more $$$ to wine and dine.
Restaurants for a wedding reception in Somerville or Cambridge?
We had a Bar Mitzvah @ The Enormous Room and I think the capacity there is only 60.
We went a little over but still had room. The apps were amazing.

Best Chinese in Cambridge or Somerville
I'm in the catagory of Royal East fans! I've never had a bad meal or even close to bad.
The spare ribs are top notch, crispy duck which we order with pancakes and scallions is perfectly cooked, we always get an order of chinese broccoli which is cooked perfectly.
The service is wonderful, the room is clean and roomy ( and always packed) with many Asian families I may add. I like Quingdao and realize it is closer to authentic. Pork with cilantro and the dumplings are standouts. It's in my neighborhood but it is the dreariest place to sit down in. Let's hope the renovation takes care of that. I am a fan of Mary Chungs as you can't beat their won tons and the spicy eggplant is epic.

Only 1 good Italian Restaurant in Cambridge and no French Restaurants at all
Thanks for the posts. If I must cross the river, I've found the classiques @ Pierrot on Cambridge St a short walk from the Charles MGH T. Hate traveling to Boston by car!
I'm sticking with Gran Gusto which never dissapoints and I can walk to.
Maybe one day a truly classic french bistro will open up in Cambridge.
As for the Blanquette De Veau. We'll be cooking at home this winter.

Only 1 good Italian Restaurant in Cambridge and no French Restaurants at all
I'm looking for classique french. Steak au poivre, blanquette de veau, duck l'orange, pate, frites, onion soupe, profiteroles, chocolate mousse. Not Cuban, Belgian, Cambodian, Middle Eastern or anything that is "french influenced" whatever that means. I've been to all of the above and while they are good restaurants they aren't exactly what I was thinking of.
Sandrines is Alsacian and more German/Swiss than "french" French ;-)
