MAYWOOD-SEAFOOD GOURMET

Went for the 2nd time and had one of the specials-Swordfish Florentine-Swordfish stuffed with spinach and gorgonzola with a marsala sauce over some mushroom ravioli-delicious-everyone else enjoyed their meals-Unfortunately when we left my car had been towed-a drunk driver smashed into 5 cars and ours was one of them-true story

Graduation lunch near Izod Center

How about Park and Orchard

MAYWOOD-SEAFOOD GOURMET

Yes-this is the place

MAYWOOD-SEAFOOD GOURMET

Went with my wife on saturday to this place-we had heard good things but never went there. It is a small restaurant in the back of a seafood market.BYOB-Nothing fancy but enjoyed very much-We had oyster,I had lobster bisque and my wife the chowder. She had soft shell crabs and I had blackened swordfish.Curious on other peoples experiences have been at the restaurant and some dish recommendations there

New York eating with 10yr old

Dont bash me-this is not about food but I highly recommend doing-Experience the Ride-which leaves from the Marriott Marquis-I think a 10 year old would love it along with adults-have done it twice-check out their website-Experiencetheride.com

Paella in Northern NJ

For a relatively inexpensive but nice Spanish restaurant in our area-try Granada in Hawthorne. They just reopened after renovation-nice people and good food

China Paradise Wayne-any comments

I live in Bergen County and the Sunday paper had a booklet with a bunch of restaurants-Saw a place in Wayne called China Paradise that has pupu platters and has that older chinese/polynesian image.Any reviews thanks

Sunday Football

We checked out Lagasse a few years ago as my crew was looking for a new place-my impression was that Lagasse was very expensive for watching football-check out the Las Vegas Hilton-large-smoke free auditorium with every game on-very comfortable

Mudslides on Cape Cod

My family and friends were at the "comah"labor day weekend saturday as well.We were there from about 6:45 to 7:45-It was packed but worked our way to the end of the bar near the raw bar-Great crowd-We had drinks and raw bar but went to Arnolds for the dinner-at the kids request-A Beachcomber-Arnolds doubleheader

Syracuse?

My son goes to the University and we went to Dinosaur BBQ in May before he came back home-I did not dislike the place and it was fun to finally go-but we both did not think it lived up to the hype-We had wings and ribs-We had heard that they had the best wings and you read that a lot-frankly the wings were better at Faegans Pub by the Syracuse campus(we once had garlic parmesan wings at Faegan)-That being said I dont have any great recommendations as I have not experienced much-We went to Justins Grill the other night by the Carrier Circle as we took my son back-second time there-OK but not great either-3 people in the family had pasta-my son really liked the penne/vodka/chicken special-my steak was ok

Our Groups Annual vacation in Eastham

We go to Eastham every year with a group up to 6 families-youngest kid is 13.We dont go out real fancy because of the kid situation. Here is my trip summary-Last Thursday night we drove up and went to Captain Parkers for dinner-actually Chowder(I know Cape Cod Guy isnt crazy about it)-Friday night was Catch of the Day in Wellfleet-Had the 2 soup sampler and thought it was just Ok but had a nice swordfish-I enjoyed my meal better last year.Saturday went with my son to Friendly Fisherman for lunch(he was getting over a cold and fever and did not want to go to the beach)-Terrific as always and our group went to Arnolds saturday night-had a lobster-relly enjoyed.Sunday night was Russ and Maries and enjoyed very much.Monday night was Finely JPs and enjoyed very much=this is one of our regular places.Had the Wellfleet Paella.Tuesday we went right from Marconi beach to the Beachcomber-After the bar hangout and raw bar dinner did not really matter-we had a great time.Wednesday night we went to Winslows Tavern in Wellfleet-our group generally was disappointed(i wasnt real hungry as we had a big happy hour back at our cottages).Thursday back to Finely JPs with a group of 17 people-Had the duck-delicious.Friday night back to Arnolds-split fried clams and shrimp with my son-very good-lots of raw bar also-Lunches at the beach mainly from Sams deli-Baguettes with tuna, bacon, swiss, onion avocado-good beach sandwich-had the same thing every time-boring but good-Also was in Chatham early Tuesday and we had pizza at Carmines-not the best pizza I have ever had but convenient-Missed going to Pates this year and the Imputent Oyster-Never enough time.

Top 5 of the Cape

I also love the Friendly Fisherman and Arnolds for what they do-our group really likes Finely JPs in Wellfleet-The place has had mostly positive reviews on Chowhound. Our group(at least 5 families with kids of all ages)has gone to Catch of the Day the last few years and we also have enjoyed a 'non seafood" time at Russ and Maries BBQ.We also go one night to Pates in Chatham-Imputent Oyster and Chatham Squier also we have enjoyed.Because of kids we do not go real fancy. We used to have one night where we ordered 3 lb lobsters and brought them back to our cottages but since the Eastham Lobster Pool closed the attached fish market closes to early to have them do it.

Top 5 of the Cape

Love the topic-I have been going with a crew of people for about 30 years in a row and we stay in Eastham. We take one day where we dont go to sunset before dinner and go right from Coast Guard Beach to the Beachcomber-Drinks/raw bar/dinner with great friends make that a real special time.

BEST off strip restaurants- What are your FAVS??

Not fancy but Harbor palace and Sam Wu in Chinatown are great deals for the money in my opinion

Mudslides on Cape Cod

However we do enjoy going to Pates-for over 20 years we came to the cape the week before labor day but have switched weeks the last 2 years-Always went to Pates for my wifes birthday dinner-It is the one night we do the non seafood thing-Me-Prime Rib-My wife-Lamb Chops

Mudslides on Cape Cod

Im not a mudslide guy but my friend gets them at the Beachcomber in Wellfleet and when you are at the bar having some raw bar-everything is good there-including oyster shooters

Suggestions for a group of 15-20

Mission complete-we are going to Malaga on 73rd street-have been there many times and we are getting the back room

Suggestions for a group of 15-20

Looking for suggestions for this Friday-Agroup of 15 to 20 of us-nothing too fancy but could be accomodated and not rushed.I contacted Hill Country today and its a possibilty but for groups that size they have a "family Style"type of program. Most of our crew like to order what they individually want

My friend got married there September 1989-it was outdoors and a hot day-we had a great time but as it was so long ago dont really remember the food situation but everyone seemed to enjoy-The experience was good and a nice setting-I will contact my friend who got married and try to get him to post on this

Im not a sports bar maven but a football fan-Theres always hooters on route 17 south or one on route 4 east.I have heard that Biggies on route 17 south in Carlstadt may not be a bad place
