Good Cajun or New Orleans-style food in the OC?

Does anyone know of a good cajun or New Orleans-stlye restaurant in the OC? The only one I know of is Ralph Brennan's, but I am looking for other options. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Mom's Artichoke Hummus -- Packaged Panacea?

They are usually at the Irvine (UCI) market from 8-12 on Saturday morning. Don't be fooled by the big hummus vendor there. The Mom's products are in the back tucked down one of the aisles.

Enjoy! Their red pepper tapenade is my favorite, but the artichoke hummus is always an excellent staple.

Romantic Restaurant in the OC (Reasonably Priced)

If you are both 21, try Old Vine Cafe in Costa Mesa. They are having a tasting menu paired with wine for $60 per person. It's very cute and romantic. Check out the website:

If you want to do something different and very inexpensive (~$40-$50 total), you can order dinner for pickup at Pascal's Epicerie (they make a nice to go Valentine's dinner) and go have a picnic at Crystal Cove or on the cliffs at Laguna and watch the sunset. It's incredibly romantic.

Need OC Champagne Brunch for Sunday

Hi. I am looking for a Sunday brunch place in Orange County for a small birthday gathering of approx. 8 people. The Hacienda is booked up and I don't think that I can handle the wait at Ramos House. Do you have any ideas? An all inclusive brunch would be great or just an a la carte brunch with a bottomless mimosa option would work well also. Food is the priority, but a nice atmosphere would be great as well. Any feedback would be great!

Planning Event for 120 in Anaheim - Any Ideas?

I'm planning a dinner reception in the Anaheim area (with a home-base hotel by Disney) and need some recommendations of places with fun atmosphere, good food, and the ability to bring in entertainment. Relaxed environment prefered. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Houston - Need a restaurant for parents' 40th Anniversary with Entertainment a plus

I'm coming in from out of town to celebrate my parents' 40th anniversary. We need to find a place that can accomodate a group of 12-14 people (including a few grandkids) that will truly feel like a celebratory evening. We'd love to do something like a dinner cruise in Kemah or something like that, but haven't been able to find one. They live in Spring, but we are willing to drive to anyplace in the Houston area. Any creative ideas?

We are open to anything...champagne brunches, Kemah dinner cruises, etc. Anywhere from Galveston up to the Woodlands would be appreciated.

I appreciate your ideas in advance!

ISO French Onion Soup w/ Chicken Stock in OC

I love french onion soup, but don't eat red meat. You see my problem here...On occasion I have found delicious french onion soup made with chicken stock instead of beef or veal stock. Anyone know of someplace in Orange County that prepares it this way?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
