REVIEW (w/Foodie Porn Pix and Flix!): Fremont Diner - a Gem in Sonoma
All of you have got to be kidding about this place. The spicy fried chicken was not spicy at all. The thigh was bloody at the bone. My friend had the mac and cheese. Only OK. At the price a rip. The waffle did not have heated syrup, a major sin in my book. I will NOT be coming back to this place. The other thing is no beer or wine. Come on you are in the wine country for god sake.
Chicken-fried steak in the Bay Area?
Creekside cafe in Sonoma has a great cfs as well as out of this world special french toast. Those are the only things I have gotten in my visits there because I can't resist them. My friends and wife had other things and loved what they had.

we would prefer to stay close to the hotel. i had actually heard that the fried chicken was very good. the last time in manhatten we went to Jacque imo but the location has been take over by the shake shack from what i understand.

I can NOT recommend Della Santina. I always found the food to be mediocre at best. Duce is another place you could try.
Dempsey's in Petaluma -- recent meals?
You will have a fine meal at Dempsey's. Some of the food has an Asian twist. All of the food is fresh and local. The beer is great. As you are about 100 yard from DOWNTOWN I don't know why you are stressed about the location. Sit outside by the river and enjoy.

We stay at the Hotel Colon. It is across the plaza from the cathedral in the Barri Gotic. Try to get a room facing the cathedral.
