Berlin vegan/vegetarian/kosher I will be travelling there this week and have a list of the above-stated restaurants. Any comments on the following: Gabriel's (formerly Arche Noah) Bakeries: Which is the best, in your opinion? I'm interested in getting close to authentic German food, which obviously is tough to do as a vegan. Can they do wurst tasty there when soy-based? |

Lunch place Westchester Route 22 Mt. Vernon to Scarsdale I'm looking for somewhere good to eat, casual and ok for a solo diner, for lunch, somewhere between the Cross County all the way up Route 22 to Scarsdale. Would prefer not to veer off into Bronxville. Anything good through Tuckahoe or Easchester? Looking for a sandwich place mainly. Not chinese or Indian or a bagel place. Is this too big an order? |

if you trek up to Riverdale, you will ***not*** be disappointed with Liebman's. It is so fantastic, you will be happy you made the trip. Way better than Fine and Schapiro. |

Phenomenal Kosher Pizza? Does it Exist? what was so disappointing about Elicia Brown's article on kosher pizza is her complete dismissal of Pizza Time, which folks here pretty much agreed is the best kosher pizza (or of the best) around. I agree that Edge's pizza is terrific. Sadly, not many New Havenites I knew agreed. We used to think we'd have to import Pizza Time but once we discovered Edge, we didn't need to. |

Healthy Food stores: Rockland County In my quest to find a real healthy food store, grassroots and offering all the traditional things you would find in a liberal or college town (or both) , such as bulk grains, herbs, local tofu (just some examples), I did a google search and found a few in Rockland County. Can anyone vouch for these? I am not looking for reviews of Whole Foods or Mrs. Greens. Particularly, the latter, which does not offer much in the way of the examples I give above. Thanks. |

Could someone please elaborate on Crown Deli on 13th and 49th street? I will add the Liebmans, which is hechshered under the STate of New York's kosher laws, is faaaaantastic. The roast beef was juicy. The fries are superb. Even just the coleslaw was splendid. It's a the bottom of the pile regarding reliable kashrut in today's standards, but boy is it great! |

Phenomenal Kosher Pizza? Does it Exist? I also think Pizza Time is great. But with DiFara's just a few blocks away, it's a real tease. |

First time back since the new design. Nice nice nice. In the search for good kosher bagels in Riverdale, I wanted to post here that the best thing I have found is at Garden Gourmet Market at 5665 Broadway (across from the Staples on B'Way) which is a fruit and vegetable stand. They are certified by the OU. Distributed by JNM Bread distributors, but baked by Just Bagels in the Bronx. There is no teudah in the store. Other two kosher bagel options I have tried in Riverdale (Mr. Bagel and Gruenbaum's) are pretty weak. |
