Good lunch spot in West Hollywood / Mid-Wilshire

A girlfriend and I are going shopping in the Melrose area tomorrow (Saturday), and since she recently got engaged, I'd like to treat her to a nice lunch. We'll probably be eating around 2pm and it seems like a lot of places are only serving brunch.

I definitely want somewhere that serves drinks and is going to be open around 2-4pm for lunch (or dinner). I'm pretty flexible in terms of price since it's a special occasion but obviously I don't have time to get reservations.

Any suggestions??

Nobu or Matsuhisa?

okay great advice! thanks!

Nobu or Matsuhisa?

I haven't been to either of these restaurants in a couple of years but would like to take my boyfriend to a good omakase for his birthday. I am leaning towards Nobu (in Malibu since I haven't heard good things about the BH location). Any recommendations? Is there somewhere else I should consider? I'm planning to spend 100-150 per person.

Thanks!

Oysters / good seafood in SF

Hi! I'm going to be visiting SF for a night this weekend from LA. I was hoping to find a really good seafood restaurant for dinner. I'm not looking for something insanely expensive but definitely not really casual.

I used to live in boston and miss the oyster bars terribly. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Santa Monica Sushi

Santa Monica Sushi

Sushi with Brown Rice in LA area

California Roll Factory in West LA will use brown rice on any of their rolls for a little extra. It's pretty good for cheaper sushi although it's more complicated rolls than actual sushi.

Santa Monica Sushi

I just moved to Santa Monica (near Montana and 1st) and am trying to find some good nearby sushi places. I know Sushi Roku and Sasabune well but am hoping to find a cheap (but good) option that I can walk to. Any ideas?

Thanks!

best sandwich spot in Boston

I know there are couple similar posts right now, but I was hoping to get a consensus on what is the best sandwich spot around (if not Darwins).

I moved here from California not too long ago, and there were some great sandwich places with really fresh veggies and meat and not always so much "gourmet" stuff going on. Darwin's is very good, but I don't think that it compares, and a lot of sandwiches are just too busy for me.

Anyways, what's the best sandwich place in the area? I don't mind driving a little ways, and I'm willing to pay a little more for the perfect sandwich:)

Red Wine Recs

I am going to a steakhouse with my boyfriend on Saturday and would appreciate some advice on wine. It is a pretty fancy restaurant, and I've heard that they mark up their wine quite a lot. I am hoping to spend around $75, and cabernet suggestions would be great. They have a massive wine list so any recommendations would probably be helpful. Thanks!!!

Looking for the BEST restaurant in Boston

Aujourd'hui is awesome. If you go, make sure to try to chocolate souffle. It's one of the best things I've ever tasted.
