Indian in Seattle?

Two peas in a pod.

Restaurant that can Accommodate Large Party (Capitol Hill area)

Quinn's should work. You could also do something in the international district like tamarind tree.

San Francisco Hound Coming to Seattle: Please Critique My List for the Emerald City!!!

I really like poppy. To me its about trying many different favors in one sitting and most of the time the dishes are very successful. I usually order a starter with a full thali but a full thali is more than enough food for one. The desserts thali is a must order.

Muffins

I really like muffins. I like all kinds of muffins (blueberry, poppy, bran, English). Despite my love of muffins I am having trouble thinking of places in or around seattle that bakes excellent muffins. Help me on my muffin quest.

Capitol Hill Rec, please

Quinns, Artusi, Restaurant Zoe?, Skillet, Cafe presse, Ba Bar.

Any good Jewish Deli's in the Seattle area?

I thought the bagels there were pretty good.

Any good Jewish Deli's in the Seattle area?

Thhe pastrami I ate at Stopskys was horrible. Tough and salty with no smoke flavor.

In Praise of Le Pichet

I went to town on that raclette this weekend. Le Pichet and Cafe Presse are perfect for what they are, simple bistro food in a casual environment.

Seattle Agenda for late October - Any obvious ommissions?

Ome of the menu items are 40 year classics. If you order the tasting menu you will get emp style food.

Seattle Since 2006

Seven star has gone downhill. Instead, go to Bellevue for Chinese and eat at bamboo garden for Sichuan and facing east for Taiwanese. Spinasse is very good for italian. Poppy gets mixed reviews by some but I really like it. The chef is jerry traunfield of herb farm fame. I am really enjoying bar del corso on beacon hill for pizza and other small plates.

Seattle Trip - Must Eats!

To my knowledge, coterie room does not sell lunch. They do have brunch on the weekend and I would imagine it would be a different menu.

Christmas Day in Vancouver 2011

This question probably is asked every year but what are the best options?
While I would be fine delving into some of richmonds finest, some in my family would like more "traditional". Any thoughts?

Altura

Anybody eaten here yet? The chef has pedigree and this review makes it sound promising. http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/eating-with-an-angel/Content?oid=10890715

Is Canlis or Herbfarm dated?

Tasting menu is the way to go at canlis.

RN 74

Never been but Capitol grille has over twenty locations nationwide. It is owned by the same restaurant group that owns olive garden and red lobster. Not judging, just saying.

LA Hound Coming on Short Notice -- Help!

I love the porchetta but I think I put the meatball over that.

102 Cuisines: Taking Inventory (SEA)

True.
Did your try anything else there?
The tripe stew looked interesting and I also want to try some of their other traditional dishes.

LA Hound Coming on Short Notice -- Help!

It's funny, those are all things I like about their sandwiches.

102 Cuisines: Taking Inventory (SEA)

It's a crap shoot because they dont roast them to order. Not sure if they have a roasting schedule.

LA Hound Coming on Short Notice -- Help!

I think roast pork is the best. It may not be your thing.

102 Cuisines: Taking Inventory (SEA)

Peruvian: San Fernando roasted chicken on rainier, a couple blocks south of dearborn, has pretty decent chicken depending on what time you get there. Other dishes sound promising as well.

A Decent Poppyseed Bagel, Or Am I Dreaming?

I had one yesterday and it was good. Nice chew on the crust, soft and dense interior.

Momofuku-style pork buns?

Facing east has them. They are called pork burgers and the pork is braised.

SEA: Dining at Bamboo Gardens--dinner specials

Hung far low has been around for a very long time. The old place in china town had a long skinny sign. Food sucks but you can get piss drunk in the bar and play some lottery.

Foods you always "deconstruct"

I do it too. Nibble the outside chocolate rim then peel off the top and the bottom .

Seattle Weekly's Best of Seattle is out: did they read Chowhound?

Pete, take a look at the menu at mawadda and tell me if you think that is Somalian food.

Please Help.....

Saltys is a chain that has mediocre food, in my opinion.

Good burger near grand central?

Mj's is looking like the choice for me. After a 20 hour trip, convince will reign supreme.
I will report back.

Good burger near grand central?

Responding to my own post. Looking at a hamburger today it looks like zaitzeff and bills bar and burgers are both reasonably close. Are either of those good options?
