I will be in Albany the middle of next week. What are the high end restaurants? It's a special occasion (anniversity). Any cuisine except Asian (or Indian).

I have searched this board but there are so many choices, I'm confused.

I will be in the Bridgton, ME area Sat (5 July). Any chowish places? I have done a search but didn't find many recent posts. Napels, Harrison, Waterford? They seem to be within 6-8 miles. Fryburg and Norway are possibilities

Martinis, which Vermouth?

I've been reading the posts about gins and I'm jonesing for a martini. But the gin is only part of the mix. The Vermouths are so varied in flavors that they must be specified for a proper martini.

Which Vermouths are best? Or which go with which gin?

Providence, River Fire

We visited Providence last Sat, to see River Fire. Had lunch at Dolce Vita at Dipasquali Sq on Atwells St. Good but not memorable. Drinks and apps at Mills Tavern. Excellent. Sautéd razor clams! Tasty but a little tough. Razor clams seem to be one long neck with a very small belly.

Dinner at Cafe Nuovo. Very confused and unorganized host. We had reservations but still had to be very agressive at the host's stand. After that, very good service and excellent food. An appetizer of smoked salmom (large portion) and a chicken scalopini which had some Mediterraean herbs that I couldn't identify. Very good. Very noisy.

Providence, drinks, tapas

Thanks, Jenkins. We went to Mills Tavern for drinks and apps. Had an app of sautéd razor clams. Very good. I didn't know razor clams were served except for chowders, but they were very good. Excellent recomendation.
