Falafel near Kenilworth
I don't know Kenilworth all that well, but on George Street, near Rutgers in New Brunswick, Maoz opened about a month ago. There are a few branches in Manhattan, and as far as I know, this is the first one in NJ. It's about a half hour from Kenilworth. My husband and I have gone to this branch 3 times so far; we love their falafel.
Best place for dinner in Red Bank?
While that area of Middletown feeds into the Middletown school district, it has Red Bank's zip code.

Anyone Tried The Scone Shoppe Point Pleasant NJ
My husband and I went today and bought about a half-dozen scones. I have to agree with shabbystorm - they're wonderful. Most scones I've had are dry; these are delicious and practically melt in your mouth.
As an added plus, the shop is in a strip mall so there's parking.
Where Can I Find A Traditional Charlotte Russe pastry in NJ? AKA Brooklyn Ambrosia
You're welcome. They were such a treat when I was growing up in Flatbush.
Where Can I Find A Traditional Charlotte Russe pastry in NJ? AKA Brooklyn Ambrosia
I had the Charlotte Russe (the one with the white piece of cardboard that you push up) at the Normandie Bakery in Hazlet, NJ. It's on Route 35 in the ToysRUs strip mall. That was about 5 years ago, so you may want to call and find out if they're still making them. The # is (732)264-1634.
Harold's New York Deli in East Brunswick, NJ
We tried to go to the Harold's on Route 18 tonight, but there was a sign that they are closed. We went on to the Edison location because I needed my blintzes fix. I asked one of the workers there about the other location and she said it closed because it just didn't get enough business.
We've always been treated well at both locations.
Freehold jury duty -- where to go for a quick lunch
I think the place across from Federici's is Stefano's.
good bread bakery in central NJ (monmouth cty)
Have you tried Zebu's in Red Bank or Holmdel? They have some great breads.
Serenella's
Does anyone know what's happening with Serenella's on Route 79 in Marlboro? They were supposed to reopen last week, but it's still closed. There's even a No Trespassing sign in the window now. We loved to take food out from there.
Red Bank- Searching for Good Mom Place
We brought a bottle of wine to the Java Moon Cafe in Shrewsbury just two weeks ago. There was no problem. It was sold fairly recently so it's under new owners now. Unfortunately, it was practically empty when we went there, although that could be because it was Good Friday.
Down to Earth in Red Bank
Just wanted to let people know that the vegetarian restaurant Down to Earth in Red Bank is now closed. It seems it closed in January. Also, Monmouth Candies is out as well. It's still open in Freehold though.
