Shrimp Cocktail - Seattle
Jack's is the fish market on the eastside of the market. Are you interested in traditional crab and shrimp cocktail or are you up for something a little different? The spicy grilled Dungenss crab at Elliott's Oyster House on the waterfront is fabulous!
Oysters/other good seafood on way to Olympic Park
Wait, do you mean the Olymic Pennisula? The Olympic Park in Seattle or Olympic National Park on the pennisula. Sorry. I may have steered you wrong.
Oysters/other good seafood on way to Olympic Park
I would hit Elliott's Oyster House right down the street from the park (about 1 mile up on the waterfront). Fantastic selection of oysters, great oyster bar, really good salmon and local beers. You'll have a great time!
Spinasse (Seattle) -- Chef's Night Off
Really nice review. Did you share your comments with the Chef or restaurant? Comments like yours are so valuable to a restaurant team. I have no doubt that the Chef would want to know that the food quality is off when he's not in the house. Chefs don't go about opening a restaurant with the desire to be a slave to it every night of their lives. Everyone needs a day off.
I hope you'll consider emailing the restaurant. I sincerely think they'd appreciate knowing.
Seattle dinner, no alcohol -- recs?
How about Lunchbox Laboratory or a number of great little Pho places. I can't remember if Fu Man Dumpling House offers liquor or not, but its tasty! Good luck and happy dining!
Lunch (to-go) for 100 (Seattle)
Any suggestions for where to get a decent lunch (nothing fancy) for about 100 hard working high school teachers and staff members? Word is, if we get them sub sandwiches one more time there will be an all out riot.
Delivery is perferable, but we could manage a pick-up if need be. Food might need to hold a bit as teachers will be handling 2 or 3 tasks during the 1.5 hour lunch break. School is located on Cap Hill. Anything in the downtown, UDistrict, Q Anne, Cap Hill....areas would be fine. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!
Cilantro Root?
I purchased cilantro with the roots intact at Whole Foods last week. I've also seen it regularly at the Ballard Farmers Market. The flavor of the root is very similar to the leaves. So just use more of the leaves, if you're in a pinch.
dinner in Seattle
Boy there are a ton of strings on this very subject. Do a quick search (text field at top of page) and you'll access more recommendations that you'd ever need! Happy dining!!
Seattle: Outdoor Dining with Dog?
What if there isn't a fence? Seems very strange not to allow dogs at cafe tables outside.
March Madness [SEA]
I was at the Wing Dome on Greenwood. They just got new flat screen TVs. The beer and wings are good!
Thanksgiving dinner in Seattle?
Coldwater Bar and Grill in the Westin Hotel is offering a Thanksgiving dinner. You might want to give them a call to get menu specifics.
Hungry Bostonians in SEA for 1 week
I'd hit Elliott's for oysters. They've got the best selection in the city and a nice view to boot!
I also recommend heading for Jack's for a bowl of cioppino, when you down at the market. A true Seattle experience.
All of downtown is easily negotiated via bus or peds. However, you'll want to grab a cab to head to Boeing and the like. Most places are fine with guests dressed in jeans and a nice dress shirt.
Vegetarian recommendations for downtown Seattle
Hey Chowhounders!
Any good recommendations for a couple of vegetarians to grab lunch in downtown Seattle? We're in the 2nd and Marion area. The restaurant doesn't need to be specifically vegetarian - just one that would provide us a few yummy veggie options would be great!
Thanks for you help!
Seattle --looking for dinner spots near 6th street
I just had a fabulous meal at Union Square Grill. Its next to the Sheraton on Union and 7th. The bar was very busy. Looked like a great spot to grab a bite.
Copper River Salmon in Seattle, Vancouver, or Alberta?
The first day of fishing for Copper is May 14th. First delivery to Seattle will be May 15th or 16th. The best place for salmon in Seattle is Elliott's on the waterfront, IMO. Very fresh, very simple.
Seattle caterer?
I've attended a couple events that were catered by Tom Douglas. I thought both of them were outstanding. One featured a fun, delicious taco bar among a number of other yummy stations. The other one was a sit-down dinner preceded by standing cocktails. I thought the food was delicious.
Oh - and the service was very warm and professional as well.
Oliver's Twist - is it open? Seattle
Does anyone know if Oliver's Twist up on Greenwood is open yet? I think they were supposed to open last month. But I drove by not too long ago and it hadn't opened.
Any info would be appreciated!
Cupcakes? [SEA]
Another talent lost to the wonders of pot.... ; )
I did a search this summer for a friend who was planning her wedding. Nothing I found came close to homemade.
Larry's lower QA Seattle
Does anyone know when Met Market is set to open in the new space?
