Thanksgiving in Portland? [Maine]
This New York Times article inspired a few friends and I to take a roadtrip from NYC to Portland over Thanksgiving.

We plan to have Thanksgiving dinner in or around Portland--does anyone have any suggestions for places that might be open? A search on this board as well as Google have yielded a couple of prospects:
-Robinhood Free Meetinghouse in Georgetown
-Harraseeket Inn in Freeport
We're twenty-somethings who love restaurants that showcase regional cuisine. We're hoping to spend about $75 per person (including tax and tip). Not necessarily looking for fine dining--just a spot that feels and serves food that's quintessentially Portland. Many thanks in advance!
Where to buy a hand-crank shaved ice machine?
It's my friend's birthday and she loves Asian-style shaved ice desserts, with condensed milk, various sweet beans, mochi toppings, the works. I want to create a make-your-own-shaved-ice bar for her birthday party.
When I was a kid, my mom used to have a hand-crank-style shaved ice machine. Does anyone know of a place to buy something similar in the city? I was thinking either Chinatown or maybe Han Ah Reum in Ktown, perhaps?
Thanks in advance!
Ktown foods that I won't find in NYC?
Wow, these suggestions are great! I've never had soondae, gamjatang, or samgytang in NYC--now, I'm totally craving 'em all. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.
dzyalo: What are the two samgyetang spots you were thinking of?
Ktown foods that I won't find in NYC?
I'm headed to Los Angeles for work for a few days and am having dinner with some pals in Ktown. I'm pretty familiar with the Korean foods that are popular in New York (your basic kalbi & bulgogi, Korean fried chicken, Pinkberry & Red Mango, patbingsoo), but I know that Ktown in LA probably has MUCH more to offer.
Any suggestions on dishes I might not be able to find in New York? Thanks in advance.
Picnic fixings in Chinatown?
I'm headed to Bryant Park tonight to watch Casablanca and will be coming from Chinatown. Any suggestions on some treats to pick up en route to the Park? I'm thinking dumplings and some bakery items, perhaps? Would love some suggestions!
