Austin Restaurant Week 2012 experiences
Also went to Urban An American Grill with some friends. Three of us had the corn chowder starter and ahi salad (crusted with sesame seeds) with fingerling potatoes. The corn chowder was incredible. The Ahi salad was good but not great. The ahi was lacking in flavor and should have been served with soy sauce and wasabi. The service was very good.

Tamales at Costco
I've read that some people here in Austin think the tamales at Costco are some of the best around. Has anyone here tried them? What is the brand name? Are they fresh or frozen and do they always have them or just a holiday time?

LOL. I saw the thin and missed the free range organic. Have to say that Elevation Burger is the worst burger I have tasted.

Its in the Austin ad. They have to have NY Strips for $7.97/lb. I got mine at the Hwy 79 HEB in RR.

Blue Oak Grill - How to Avoid an RIP for a place that doesn't deserve it?
Had dinner there tonight. Good service, good cornbread. The chicken fried steak was very forgettable. The breading was not cooked all the way through and was a bit doughy. Wife had a cobb salad which was ok. The place has weird vibes too.

They usually have them in the deli department at the RR Sprouts. Haven't been there in a few weeks since I have a freezer full.

Natural casing hotdogs are difficult to find around here unless you want to settle for Boars Head. I used to order once a year from Usingers in Milwaukee but discovered that Sprouts carries them now! Sprouts has Usinger brots and weiners and Sabratts natural casing hot dogs. A dog isn't a dog unless it's a natural casing!
Rack of Pork at Costco
Anyone tried the rack of pork at Costco? It's only available over Thanksgiving and Christmas and is fantastic cooked according to the instructions on the label. It costs about $3/lb but it's definitely worth it!
