The Best Dim Sum I've Never Had Ocean Star was my go to dim sum place in LA but recently i've discovered Capital Seafood just across from Ocean Star. its in a huge strip mall, next to the 99 ranch supermarket. All the dim sum staples (except for Lo Ba Kau = radish cake) was solid! The place looks reminiscent of Scarface though, gaudy white and gold with chandeliers.... |

I love Chosun, but if u dont feel like cooking then i suggest BCD Tofu, thats where I take my beginner friends, its bang for your buck too. |

I think Asahi Ramen is soo overrated....kind of tasteless....Chabuya's Zenbu broth is far superior. |

What's your most recent WOW! Moment at an LA restaurant? I havent had a wow moment in a really long time, but had one this sat night at Alegria on Sunset. this unassuming place in a strip mall is hands down the best mexican home cooking u will find in LA. I ordered their Chicken Mole because i havent yet to discover good Mole and was floored by the complexity and savoryness but yet it was alot lighter than i assume Mole would be. just the right amount of spice and spices. and they dont skimp on portions either. guelaguetza doesnt hold a candle. |

Hi all, Im going to switzerland for a culinary study abroad program for 3 months this summer. So before i bid adieu, i want one last great dinner with my boyfriend. Just like all of u, I love an unforgettable tasting menu with wine pairing. Some of my favorites are Hatfield's and Sona. Here are some of the places ive been considering. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Feel free to suggest places not mentioned. Grace |

Any Argentinean gems I don't know about? I agree, Carlito's Gardel is the best kept secret. their steaks melt in your mouth. |

Cozy date spot in Hollywood area Pace on Laurel Canyon is very cozy and not too expensive. Never had a bad meal there. The Shrimp and beans appetizer is awesome. and I really like Eat. On Sunset too. It has a loungy vibe and great cal-french food. |

Restaurants in Venice/Santa Monica area My favorite restaurant in Venice is definitely Joes's on Abbot Kinney. Great, light french cal cuisine. THeir brunch is one of the best deals in town too. www.joesrestaurant.com |
