Best bet for late night in West Hartford, Farmington, etc?

Shish lounge on Farmington Ave (904 I think) is open until 1am during the week, 2am on weekends.
Haven't been but I hear they get a pretty nice crowd and the location is great.

Birthday Brunch- Help Please , It's Urgent

I 2nd the Ocean Grill...we've done brunch there a number of times and always been pleased. Also very reasonably priced.

We were not so impressed with the Park Ave Autumn brunch almost 2 years ago which costs, as I recall, over $220.00 for just the four of us. Only one drink each, had to request coffee twice and the food was just so-so. Even their fabled pastry basket was under-whelming.

Whatever you decide have a great time.

Places I wish were Good...in Hartford Area-CT

We really wish Reuben's in West Hartford Center offered truly wonderful hot Pastrami and Corned Beef. Very disappointed with the Blintzes (frozen?) and the cole slaw is the worst I've ever had. Waited so long for a "real" NY Deli to get here not a faux one. And it aint cheap.

Where to have brunch in NYC?

Brasserie 81/2 W. 57th. Not bad and you can linger for hours.

Which of these burger places?

Haven't seen many great reviews on Bobby Flay's burgers and the local paper up here in Ct. just gave him a big thumbs down for his new place at one of the casinos. Stick with Shake Shack!

Moderately priced tasting menu?

We were six and had a great dinner at Babbo. Didn't do the pasta tasting menu but had no trouble getting that table (usual...one month to the day reservation, speed dialing for 45 minutes).

Hebrew Nationals vs. Nathan's

I was never a fan of Hebrew National hot dogs (might as well have been eating baloney) because I was spoiled and grew up with original Nathan's hot dogs. However, we love and adore the Hebrew National knockwurst: great snap, intense flavor.

What is your favorite tomato/marinara sauce in a jar?

Have always been partial to Classico...doesn't have that overly sweet after taste that Ragu and Prego have. Just discovered Trader Joe's sauces and like them as well (prices are great).

brunch upper east side? creative american cuisine?

We were terribly disappointed in Park Ave Summer back when it was Park Ave Fall. Terrific service but horribly over priced for just ho-hum food. Perhaps it was an off Sunday for them but based on the mediocrity if it all I don't recommend it.

Review of chowish weekend - most good, one really (expensive) bad!

We stayed at the Meridien two weeks ago and never did get to sample the Burger Joint...now I don't feel so bad about missing it.

Review of chowish weekend - most good, one really (expensive) bad!

We stayed at the Meridian two weeks ago and never seemed to have time for The Burger Joint. I'm thrilled to know that we missed nothing special.

Had a grand dinner at Babbo but plan to do Kefi next time...especially based on your review. Thanks.
