Viva Chocolato
Have y'all been to the new chocolate/desert place in The Domain yet (http://www.vivachocolato.com/index.html)? I got to chat with one of the owners today, and she definitely converted me to a Viva Chocolato-lover with their connecting over chocolate philosophy. Well, that plus the ginormous amounts of chocolate. And the delicious gelato (I loved the chocolate chipotle).
I found their truffle selection to be rather overwhelming, and since they're $2-3 each, I want to make sure to pick out the worthwhile ones for when I go back. Any recommendations?
Chocolate
Viva Chocolato is definitely chocoholic heaven. I just picked out 5 truffles, though I haven't eaten any yet, so I can't comment on the freshness.
I saved my truffles for later because I also indulged in their chocolate chipotle gelato while I was there. It's sweet, creamy, and packs just the perfect amount of heat that makes you perk up but won't leave you gasping for a glass of water.
Favorite Seinfeld food moments
It was the poppy seed muffin that made her test positive for opiates. She then convinces Peterman to let her retest and stops eating the muffins. Right before her retest, however, she discovers a poppy seed in her teeth from some chicken Kramer had fed her.
She ends up testing negative for opium because she gets Jerry's mother's urine, but she doesn't get to go to Africa because she's menopausal with a 68-year-old's metabolism.

What are your favorite kitchen myths?
If you put an equal volume of hot and cold water in, the cold water will freeze first. However, the hot water freezes at a faster rate (makes sense; temperature-wise, it has a lot further to go). So really, it all depends on how you define "faster."
Hooray for public high school science class. Not enough money for real experiments, so we watched water freeze.
What are your favorite kitchen myths?
I did a study where I dropped gummy dinosaurs onto different pieces of tile and carpet swabbed with E. coli, smeared the gummies onto agar plates, and incubated them to see what grew. Smooth tile transmits less bacteria than rough tile and carpet, but all transferred bacteria onto the gummy. However, your kitchen floor probably isn't kept at 98.6 degrees or warmer, so there's likely to be very little if any bacteria living on it.
