Profile
Best meal I ever ate:
Maxim's de Paris in 1988 in the Ginza Building in downtown Tokyo. I was living in Japan at the time and it was my 30th birthday.
My current drink of choice:
I've been sipping single malt scotch lately. There are so many kinds and the difference in the brands and ages are very distinctive--unlike bourbons which tend to taste the same to me since I have to mix them with 7-up or ginger ale or in an Old Fashioned which no one knows how to make any more! Single malts are only good over ice with a splash of water or Drambuie for a Rusty Nail
I really wish I could:
Travel via teleportation!! Think of the time it would save!!
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
Rack of lamb with pecan crust
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
For the world's best steak, Randancer in West Palm Beach, FL., for really excellent and authentic Chinese food: China Restaurant in Highland IL., for a once in a lifetime meal: Maxim's de Paris in Tokyo, for Pizza it's a tossup between Dewey's Pizza in St Louis (U City) and County Line Pizza in Juno Beach, FL and Copeland's in Baton Rouge, Louisiana!
My most tattered cookbooks:
A book I got for a wedding gift called "The best recipes from cans, bottles and jars". It's amazing how many of my grandmother's 'SECRET RECIPES" are from this book! I guess she copied them from the can, bottle or jar instead of whipping them up spontaneously--but the love she put in gave a lot of extra flavor!!
