Good ice cream (in maker) recipes?
Agree wholeheartedly!
You might consider one that's not egg-based, it would be easier to make especially in bulk. I have made a tiramisu flavor with mascarpone cheese & coffee liqueur that is out of this world.
atlanta penzeys
I loved it! It is a huge space for the amount f product they have, but generally it's fantastic. They have open containers of everything, so you can smell before you buy. And recipe cards too.
A note on cost - if you buy in plastic containers or bags, it's much more reasonable than buying the glass jars.
Where to buy dried mushrooms in Atlanta area?
Try Buford Highway Farmer's Market, Dekalb Farmer's Market, or something like that. I noticed that at BHFM there were a ton of dried peppers so perhaps there's a mushroom section too.

Need help locating the best Chinese food in Atlanta!
I will give a nod to Chef Liu's as well - delicious! I like the juicy pork buns, the pork w/ fennel dumplings, and the eggplant w/ spicy garlic sauce. Enjoy!!

Sugar-free Frozen Yogurt or Carbolite in Atlanta
I believe Yoforia in Morningside has had sugar-free choices in the past.

Atlanta-area Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
The 2 different CSA's I've gotten have both been through local synagogues. The latest one is through Jewish Food Alliance and the pick-up is at Shearith Israel in Morningside.
I have enjoyed them, but be forewarned - it was hard for me to go through all of that produce, and I split it with 2 others! It was hard to get through so much of any one product, also - like the oodles of collard greens or pink-eyed peas. And once you get through it, a whole new batch comes the next week! You have to be creative and diligent.
Where do you buy your coffee beans in Atlanta?
Once I break the vacuum seal, though, is it still ok to have at room temp? I cannot re-seal after I open the package. I cannot go through an entire package in 2 weeks - 1 person @ 1 cup/day = more than 2 weeks.
Ice cream to go with peaches?
This weekend I made basil ice cream with roasted peaches - YUM! Amazing.
BBQ catering
I'm thinking about getting BBQ takeout/catering for my birthday dinner this year - get a bunch of meat, sides, etc. to my house, and my friends & I can enjoy at our leisure.
Has anyone done catering with a local BBQ place? Any thoughts?
Where do you buy your coffee beans in Atlanta?
I have Dancing Goats beans in my freezer right now. I've also tried Bare Nekked Espresso and one other brand... name escaping me... but all purchased at Whole Foods midtown. They have the local brands highlighted. Aurora also great, though!
Your opinion on BEST Brunch in ATL? (price & location not a factor)
I can't believe I went 10+ yrs in Atlanta without going to Highland Bakery until about 2 months ago - DELICIOUS! Highly recommend but, as with all brunch places in Atlanta, go early.

If you follow any of these guys on Twitter or Facebook, they frequently reference each other and that's a good way to find others.
Urban pL8; anyone been?
I had really mediocre/poor service there, but the food was decent. I might give it another shot. Now that it's on ScoutMob, they're packed.

How to find good restaurants in Atlanta /Georgia
Also look at Chowdown Atlanta, Blissful Glutton, and other similar blogs that have good reviews.
4th & Swift - has anyone been?
I haven't been for some time, but when I did go, it was quite good.
Valentines Day is Coming...where are you eating?
HOME! We will go out a different night that is not Valentine's Day.
Cheap catering
Ok, Atlantans, I've got a question for you - where should I turn for cheap catering? Ive thought of Taqueria del Sol and Figo so far and might be able to strike a deal with Alon's. Any other ideas? Mexican or Latin American are options but I don't know which restaurants could do catering in that ethnic world...
Thanks!!
inexpensive, good, and unique to Atlanta places?
I think Atlanta does have some great restaurants, but downtown is not the place. Even close to downtown is ok, but posters are correct that a cab or car is absolutely necessary. Sucks but just a fact, part of living in/visiting Atlanta. Interesting what they're trying to do to restructure the area, but it's not there (yet?).
Fig Ice Cream?
I recently made the David Lebovitz recipe that calls for all fresh figs. I think it would be even more delicious with a port wine reduction sauce.
Crazy Ice Cream
Love corn ice cream! It was one of my first flavors to churn.
Heard about pot ice cream today: http://www.ksbw.com/r/25004784/detail.html
But on a serious note, I have won an ice cream 'competition' with this coconut curry flavor: http://ulteriorepicure.com/2007/06/26/coconut-curry-sorbet/
Enjoy and happy churning!
White Truffle OIl and Meyer Lemon Olive Oil
I use lemon oil for roasted cauliflower. Toss cauliflower in lemon oil, s&p, roast. Mix more lemon oil, chopped capers, chopped olives together and toss with warm cauliflower - yummm!
Atlanta Eats
Unfortunately the only places I know of are up on or near Buford. There's a mediocre one in Midtown on Monroe.
need recs. for north Atlanta...
Also try Chef Liu's for great dumplings.

Where to eat in Duluth? Near Gwinnette Center. . .
Just ate at Sugo's and it was quite good.
Where do I find the best vegetarian food in Atlanta?
Try Sunflower in south Buckhead. There's a chinese place too (Sprout... Green something...) whose name I can't quite remember.
