NOT acorns.. I also made that assumptions and was hoping for a yet undiscovered Korean Pata Negra but I believe you are refering to 'sh!t'. The pigs were traditionally housed adjacent to the local outhouse and considering the times these days, it seems to be a sound ecological way of 'waste' managment. However, I just got back from Jeju-do and from my understanding (would like confirmation as well) I was told that the pig farming is more commercialized and grass fed. The pork seems to be tauted so I assume they have somewhat larger pig farms to feed the demand. However, it's a small island and i didn't even see one live pig. There are plenty of restaurants that advertise the pig but I don't recall where I ate. It was the marinated grilled black pork served tableside in a big wok. However, I didn't find it really that great. but was not sure what to expect. I'd like to hear what your experience is like and if you find more information.

Dduk Bo Ssam

Anyone know of a good dduk bo ssam place in the city? I've only had it in LA and the only place I know that serves it in Manhattan is Seoul Garden but can't find any information on other restaurants in K-town.

BLT Burger

Had the merguez burger and vivaldi onion rings there today and agree the buns were not pretty to look at, a bit like a deflated souffle. The burger as a whole tasted pretty decent. The cucumber in the yogurt sauce might do for a bit more finer cut(not so fine as to not having a nice crunch) for better dispersion through the bites. The onion rings were crispy but a bit too greasy and felt like i could have done with maybe 2-3 more rings (visually the plate looked too spartan as if somebody had nibbled on a few rings before i got my plate). Does higher oil temp make for a less greasy onion ring or is it the batter? Had an egg cream and while i have not had many in my lifetime, it did not come across as something i would order again. Are egg creams supposed to be served cool (not cold but almost warm)? All in all, I would still give it another try.
