Inn of the 7th Ray is off Topanga Canyon, thus not too far from Winnetka.. very unique...mos def very different from anything that you'd find on the East Coast

the information i found on this post was what makes sites like chowhound such a great resource....RIo Brazil Cafe is an excellent find, and w/ my brazilian wife's support I can say this restaurant is a great find for non-brazilians and brazilians seeking the mythical "authentic" ethnic cuisine, in this case from all over Brazil. With so many churrascarias overtaking LA (not to mention the USA in general!), this makes a great alternative to anyone seeking the seafood and more soup-based dishes commonly found anywhere on brazils coast.
Best Middle-Eastern or Greek lamb in LA
I love lamb in all its ethnic varieties, but sadly my wife did not grow up w/ it (she's from brazil) and I'm hoping to find a restaurant that serves lamb so good that she can't resist...she likes more spicy/flavorful cuisines, so perhaps something of the greek/middle-eastern/turkish variety would work...suggestions?

bertha's soul food cafe needs some love on this post! If it had half the movie quotes as roscoe's (swingers, jackie brown), it would have double the hype...near century and western
Good Fried Chicken
Bertha's Soul Food Cafe in Inglewood should mos def be on this list...come on y'all! Perhaps not the best fried chicken, but the cornbread muffins, the authentic sides (mac and cheese is a veggie in the South!) and ambience made it a great experience.
