Hoops and Dinner
Looking for a good place in the east village that would have the ncaa tourney game on. Any cuisine is fine, as long as it's quality and there is a tv.
Don't want a traditional sports bar - there is only one game at a time, so one good tv will suffice. Something like the Redhead, a little more interesting than Royal.
Thanks.
PIzza Party for Soccer Team on East Side
Looking for a large place that can accommodate about 20-30 people for a soccer party, preferably pizza. Maybe a separate space.
Ideally, it will be in the East Village, or East 20's.
Thanks.
4 Brothers from NY and LA, 2 Nights - Big Dinner/Cas Dinner
Coming to Chicago with 3 brothers and my dad in July.
1. Looking for one dinner that is in an interesting/youthful neighborhood to walk around (like Greenwich Village or downtown Brooklyn in NY), with a flavorful menu, farm fresh/quality ingredients (but not overly experimental or minimalist for this group), and fun/upbeat, which will lead to bar hopping and strolling afterwards, and a great unique Chicago experience.
What do you thikn of these and what else fits in? What neighborhoods would fit the criteria - is it Bucktown/Wicker Park (pardon my ingornance).
Lula Cafe
Publican
The Bristol (this looks most on target)
2. Bigger dinner - more along the lines of a steak place, but certianly an old school old time place with character - don't want to be in a hotel or at a chain. I've read a mix of opinioins about Gibsons, Mortons, and others - what do you think about Erie Cafe?
Thanks much -
Jman

Buying Fish near Union Square

Buying Fish near Union Square
Aside from the farmers market, whole foods and trader joes, does anyone have a rec for finding good, fresh fish on a weekday, somewhere near union square, or 2/3 ave. in the east village?
Thanks.
