Best tasting cocoa powder?

Dutch means alkalized while non dutch is natural with no alkalization. Alkalized cocoa mixes better in liquids and won't react with baking powder. Most cocoas are alkalized with solvents but I have researched fully and found a company that alkalizes with water, baking soda and pressure so i buy all my cocoa from them (alkalized cocoa from most sources gave me skin rashes, this one doesn't): www.santabarbarachocolate.com I've used their stuff for years and actually have won a few competitions with their cocoas and so I'm a big fan. Try the red one - it isn't too artificially red and tastes awesome.

Check out Cup Cake Love in Solana beach. The owner Ilene is really nice and her chocolate cocoa cup cakes are the best I've had.

Great Food in Santa Barbara

The Four Seasons Biltmore has the view, the food and the service - plus it is a very memorable fun experience. If you drive a bit further South to Carpinteria, try Sly's - top notch place, great food, great chocolate dessert, fun atmosphere but not much of a view.

Santa Barbara Harbor restaurant..?

I've eaten there a few times and would call the quality and service average but the location above average. It is a memorable spot for a birthday - my mom wanted to go there too. I'd say it is a good choice for a birthday dinner.
