Celebrating my 30th birthday
Bazaar is not affordable probably. I have had great meals there in the past. However, I have it on good authority that the crowd has gotten bit tacky in a loud gaudy sense. I think Eveleigh has solid food and a great vibe for a 30rdy bday!
SOTTO - BEST PORK CHOP IN TOWN
Absolutely agree. Its often not on the menu, but if you ask they have it most nights during the week. Really great!
Loud and louder restos: Maybe I'm getting old, but...
Must say, while The Brentwood has gotten a tad (very tad) less dark it was incredably loud Thursday night.
Spice Table Lunch
Took JesseJame's suggestion and had the catfish sandwich (hold the mayo). My friend had the pork belly banh mi and we shared the fried chicken wings. All were very good. Will certainly go back.
I have never, ever, had a bad meal at ____________and I have eaten there over a dozen times!
Ima pour speller! I did notice though.

Dan Tanas - (sure to cause an uproar)
The Brentwood (always solid)
Spago
Mastroes
Il Piccolino
Il Moro
Sasabone
Sushi Sushi
Restaurant NOMA rated "Best Restaurant in the World" 3 times in a row!
From the over the top responses, you would have thought Hammer19 was touting Dan Tana's, Sausebone or Baronies pizza. All of which are very good by the way. Worse yet he could have criticized Mori sushi! Seems like its only safe to praise Red Medicine these days - which is very good, going back next week!
Lazy Ox Louzy Lunch
I ate there yesterday and had a very good meal. First time. We had several small plates all of which were excellent except the quail which was small and boney. Also had the 30 percent but did not present until the bill came (although not Pre-med). To me it. Sounds like y ou ordered wrong and sat wrong.
Meatball Subs
Papa Jake's Sub Shop in Beverly Hills is great. All of their subs are really high quality. I think they also have a branch in Manhattan Beach.
Visiting Laguna Beach for a week - need recommendations
Cafe Zoolu is a must. Fantastic seafood. Very casual and nice wine list.

Private Room for 12-14 people for Sunday night dinner
Il Moro in West LA has a nice private room that would work. Very good food although not Latin.
Graduation Diner Near Union Square
Coming to SF from LA for my son's graduation. Looking for a fun place, with good food and a full bar for a party of 8 near Union Square. Food should be good, but a fun casual vibe. Open to different cuisines. Your help is much appreciated.
Best Pizza in Los Angeles (& surrounding)????!!
There was a recent post that claimed that a place called Little Toni's in North Hollywood was La Barbaras reincarnate. After a week of obsessing, drove 1/2 hour over the hill. Sat in the front seat of my car and dove in. Not La Barbaras by a long shot. Not horrible but not classic. Speaking of classic, Baronies is still one of the unique great pies in town. Old school, but classic.
Red Medicine. Wow.
I almost think its better for 2. At least you get something a bit substantive to eat. With 4 its a very expensive nibble. Did the server tell you the price when you ordered?
Red Medicine. Wow.
I really enjoyed my first meal at Red and am going back next week. Last night I was with a good friend who had gone and was not happy. Apparently, a group of four ordered the prawns dish at $MP. The server neglected to mention that it was $110 for a handful of shrimp which they found shocking. They also, felt the pacing was rushed which was something we also experienced.
Who remembers La Barbera's pizza in West L.A.?
It was the highlight pizza of my youth. Remember the sausage too. In fact that's what I got at Little Toni's. While not close, I must say I watched them making the pizza and they put a ton of thick toppings on their pies. FYI I asked the hostess about La Barbaras and she had never heard of it. Told her I was there because of this post and she said she would give it a look. I took the box to the car so excited that I opened it and ate the first piece before turning the ignition. Like I said, it was not bad, just not la Barbaras. An impossible standard to meet.

Would be great. Was done with the original I&joy bagel recipe Unfortunately time was off.

Made the sojourn from LA to N Hollywood in anticipation..... "I knew La Barbaras and you sir are no La Barbaras". I can see from the crust how it might remind one of La Barbaras, but I am afraid that ship has sailed. Too bad.
Breakfast/brunch spot around Hotel Angeleno
The patio at Barney Greengras in BH is great for brunch.
What to wear to Buchon?
A jacket and jeans is fine. You definitely don't need a suit or tie unless it's business and others will.
