New Yorker coming to Vegas

If you have a car, and not thinking of buffets- make sure you go to Rosemary's. It is about a 15 minute cab ride west of the strip. The meal is wonderful, and prefixed at about $60 per person. If you are there on a Sunday- wine is half price, and on Wednesdays- women can eat half price.

Rosemary's is consistently rated as one of the top Las Vegas restaurants for food. Call for reservations!

Peking Duck at Lei Wah Heen

Hi there. We live in NY, and visit Toronto a few times a year. On each trip we go to LWH for the Peking Duck. Yes, the room is a bit sterile, and the servers a bit stiff- but the duck is great. The carving seems totally professional, with a bit of skin and meat attached on each piece. The servers do prepare small pancakes, so if you want more filling, just tell them.

In addition, they take the duck back and serve it in small pieces sauteed with veggies, and crisp wispy noodles, to be served in lettuce leaves.

Yum. I think it's worth the cost!

Need a mixture of Restaurants in San Diego for next Monday and Tuesday 11/30 and 12/1

Hi there. I know this sounds a bit scattered, but I need some restaurant advice. My husband and I need some restaurants in the back of our pocket, and preferably those that don't require reservations in advance. We are meeting up with one of our friends there, whose schedule is really hectic, so we have to be a bit flexible. Please- no Seafood at all!

We are arriving in San Diego (from NYC, but driving from Los Angeles on Monday late afternoon.) I have tentatively made reservations at The Market Restaurant in Del Mar, meeting up with our friend, who has a meeting up there. Any comments on the Market?

Tuesday, I need the whole day, ending with an early evening, as we have to catch a 6:15am plane out. We wanted to wind up near La Jolla for dinner. Since the sun sets early now, does it make sense to do a restaurant with great views? I also want to see Coronado during the day, so how bout recommendations there for lunch? We are staying at the W downtown for 2 nights. I have heard the Mission restaurants do great breakfasts? Also, I wouldn't mind seeing Torrey Pines. Is A. R. Valentiens worth the price, even if we only go for breakfast or lunch? If it's really casual is Hodad's really great for burgers? I have been to In and Out in other cities very often.

You can see how confused we are.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can lend.

Upscale Italian or Steak in Beverly Hills, or Santa Monica- quiet with spacious dining room?

Well.... I have made reservations for us for Angelina Osteria. The food looks excellent, and hopefully it will not be too noisy. I will report back next week. Have a great holiday, and thanks, all.

Upscale Italian or Steak in Beverly Hills, or Santa Monica- quiet with spacious dining room?

Hi.... thanks for the suggestions.. but a few people I know have recommended Angelina Osteria. Would that be a good choice? Also... they say that Madeo's is fine again for what I am looking for.

Upscale Italian or Steak in Beverly Hills, or Santa Monica- quiet with spacious dining room?

I guess what I am looking for barely exists. We don't want sedate... just not a screaming match. Our friend wants us to go to Giorgio's in Santa Monica, but I have heard it is just too loud.
In regard to Valentino- I had been to the one in Las Vegas, and was not blown away- but that restaurant has a different chef, etc.

Upscale Italian or Steak in Beverly Hills, or Santa Monica- quiet with spacious dining room?

Hi there. We will only be in town one evening, and it will be the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I need a really good restaurant for 3 people that is not incredibly noisy, nor has the tables on top of each other. This is a birthday celebration for my husband. It shouldn't be stuffy, nor a seafood restaurant- just great food, and a bit of spaciousness. We live in NY, and a restaurant such as Del Posto would be a prime example. Can you think of any in the Beverly Hills or Santa Monica area? It seems as though every fine Italian restaurant is noisy and crammed. Does the Beverly Hills Boa fill my needs?

Thanks
