What was the worst food you HAD to eat as a kid? Liver--need I say more?? |

All I want is a good cup of coffee at home. [moved from General Topics] I love lattes. Three years ago I bought a Nespresso machine with an aerocino from Amazon. I love it. There are twelve different capsules filled with coffee from around the world. Husband likes very dark roast and I do not so we have lots of options. It takes one minute to brew the espresso or lungo while my milk is heating. In one minute I can have a wonderful latte. |

Which brands are you loyal to? Publix carries Wickles Pickles...they are spendy but so delicious. |

Since Starbucks doesn't offer water processed decaf any longer, I bought a Nespresso machine and all their decafs are water processed and delicious. I also bought their aerocchino machine and have my latte every morning. I've had it two years and it is wonderful. |

The Laws of Diminishing (Culinary) Returns Cindy J, I laughed so hard when I read this. It has happened to me so many times. But, for me, God is in the details and I would have loved your table. I was a travel agent for 25 years so when I would return from an exotic location I would have a dinner party based on food from that country. I spent weeks on the Thai dinner and several people said, "I don't think I could spend a week eating this food...how did you stand it?" I have arthritis now and can't do elaborate anything and it is just fine with me. I will do special things for my kids and grandkids because they love it but not much else. |

What a great idea. I haven't made the roasted shrimp salad yet but I think that would be great. I have made the coconut cupcakes and I think they can be frozen. I was planning on serving the prosecco because it is still warm enough in Atlanta. Thanks again. |

Thank you all so much for the wonderful ideas. Can you boil the potatoes for the nicoise platter day prior? Also can crepes be frozen? |

My friend will be arriving on Tuesday. I am having a luncheon in her honor on Thursday. I would like to do something simple so I can enjoy her visit and not get flustered. Thanks for any ideas |

Great suggestion! Thanks. |

I took out my tube of Odense almond past and it is hard as a rock. Any suggestions before I buy a new one??? |

Nick Malgieri's Supernatural Brownies - is there really a better recipe? I think not. The Kathryn Hepburn brownies were also Lorie Colwins favorite. Another suggestion--don't try pecans--they are too rich. Very, very simple for dessert. Just raspberry sauce and small scoop of ice cream or whipped cream. |

Nick Malgieri's Supernatural Brownies - is there really a better recipe? I think not. Kathryn Hepburns brownies. I still have the original clipping from Ladies Home Journal from many, many years ago. I noticed they are all over the internet. Try them. |

Definately my mom's potato soup. |

I lived in Oregon for 10 years and one of our favorite outings for visitors was a trip to Cannon Beach with a stop at the Tillamook factory. I use their cheddar as my everyday cheddar for its taste and the effort they make to use non-BST milk. |

Lorie Colwin, Julia Child and my mom. I grew up in Alabama and my mom was a gourmet cook. I was so fortunate. She dried tomatoes in her oven, made watercress soup and lobster thermidor. This was in the late 50's and early 60's. Everyone wanted to come to my house and eat. It was certainly the only time they were exposed to Enchiladas, chinese food, and cream puffs. The only thing she couldn't make was a decent meatloaf nor did she make good biscuits. |

Manchego cheese and Sidecars...not necessarily together |

Garlic mashed potatoes with fish. It is bad enough that they are served with everything in many restaurants but fish???? |

So where do you buy this wonderful pork? |
