Absolut Boston in LA/OC

I just read an article on Supertaster via Chow about the special edition Absolut Boston. It sounds delicious, and was wondering if anyone had spotted this in the area so I could pick up a bottle.

Thanks to everyone who might be able to help!

ISO "Lebenese/Middle Eastern Costco/Warehouse" in the OC?

What about Super King in Anaheim?

Fruit Jellies [Candy]

These round circular gems at TJ's have been replaced by a square version. The colors and flavors are also different from the original. The container looks basically the same size, and I think they actually taste better!

McDonalds Chicken McNuggets - they did something to them.....

Read this article about it:

I'm guessing that maybe the chicken is treated this way too?

Trader Joe's brand - The Good, the Bad - What have you enjoyed? tossed? bought more of? thought a bargain?

re. the fat free versions - fage is definitely better with a creamier texture than tj's, but the fage is almost $5 while the tj's brand is 2.79.

HELP a horrible baker for Easter dessert

Okay, I think I might do this.

Is there a way to tell how my crust turned out before making my filling?!?!

HELP a horrible baker for Easter dessert

I've tried this before. I don't know what happened, but they came out a little... chewy. Maybe it was the weather that day. Also, I don't have a piping bag or tips, and I don't think meringue looks great unless I can pipe them down.

Would definitely try this idea again, just don't want to for the occasion in case I mess it up.

Make me a muffin -- a Chowhound Challenge

These blueberry muffins are seriously the best muffins every. Simple to make, with a SUPER fresh, just right blueberry taste. And also, America's Test Kitchen DOES have some of the best basic recipes ever!

HELP a horrible baker for Easter dessert

So I want to make a simple, elegant and most of all delicious dessert for Easter - but I really cannot bake fancy things. I can make decent cookies & brownies from scratch, but other than that I'm SOL.

Please help and give me suggestions on something that I can make that is super impressive but hot horribly difficult. I have NO idea how to make pie crusts / pastry / biscuit dough and I don't have a stand mixer. I have a handheld one though :)

Taiwanese Pineapple Pastries

Best (but pricey) ones I've had.

Locations in San Gabriel, Montery Park, Rowland Heights. Grab the grocery ones if you must, but really, the taste does NOT compare - compare packaged cookies from the grocery to ones from a bakery.

Late Friday (after 8pm) deals in Pasadena

How about Gyu-Kaku. I think they have happy hour from 10pm-close. Half off apps, $2.50 japanese BBQ items, $2 drafts.

Soups in the SGV - recommendations, favorites, etc.

Second this rec., awesome with just a touch of the white pepper! Last time I went there, they ran out and it looked like most of the tables had a bowl. Very Yummy.

POMONA-PALOOZA! (or Rowlandheightapalooza... Uplandpalooza, etc.)

I would second the recommendation for Viva Madrid. Very cute, cozy place. The food is good, but I think it's more about your surroundings. Really good sangria, and except to wait for dinner.

As for Diamond Bar, I don't really think there's anything spectacular. At least nothing comes to mind.

I really like Noodle House in Rowland Heights. It's off Fullerton and Gale. Pretty new. Really AWESOME fish ball soup, steamed dumplings (mutton and goji berry, pumkin...) This place runs a wait for dinner too. Also like Baimon in Rowland Heights for Thai. Probably the best in the area. My Thai's friend's parents swear by this place. They are also very friendly and the food is well priced.

As for the farm store. When it's awesome, it's REALLY awesome. When it sucks, it REALLY sucks. I've been here on an off day, and there is NO good produce - a lot of it actually looks a day from being rotten. But they do sell Dr. Bob's Ice Cream!

What can you not live without from Costco?

yesterday, i just bough a 35.3oz tub of Fage Total 0% for $6.50!! it's the first time i've ever seen it at costco, and what a deal! it looks twice as big as the largest supermarket size which is usually like $4.50. Yay.

Best place for take out korean banchan for a DIY Korean BBQ?

A really great one I know is H-Mart off of South Diamond Bar Blvd. in Diamond Bar. While not exactly north OC, its only one exit north of Brea!

Tons of premarinated Kbbq meats and Banchan by the pound.

Farm Boy (Sushi Report) Sherman Oaks:

I've visited the location in Chino Hills a few times and as a tip, all the sushi is 50% off 30 minutes before closing which makes it an even sweeter deal!

Not sure if this applies to all locations, but it's worth a shot!
