George's Diner, at the 85 exit for Hillsborough Street: http://georgesdinernc.com/
Great food, great people, open 24 hours... better than I expected for sure!
Best Diners in Durham, NC?
(1) George's Diner, Hillsborough Rd @ 85, was real good. Ecclectic and good menu. Better than I expected, and 24-hours open is a real plus for the late afternoon pancake panic attacks, lol... The owners are Greek and have an American-themed restaurant with some exotic dishes on the menu as well.
(2) Sunny's Diner, Hwy 70/Glenwood Avenue y Raleigh's Umstead State Park entrance, is fabulous. Chinese owners who have a solid diner menu with to-die-for tuna melts and awesome omelets. Its attached to an Eagle gas station that I never expected it to become a staple of my dine-out desires, but it is.
George's Diner Hillsborough Durham
Just tried this place tonight @ dinner time- not too busy and we got tables and drinks quickly. Very nice place, clean, and the food's awesome. I've never had artichokes done so well- they were sublime! I was also told the Greek portion of the menu opens next week, so I'm comign back for that.
They have free Wi-Fi I'm told, but I didn't see a sign for it. I'll try it next time perhaps. More importantly the desserts were many and good, and that and a glass of Coke is all I need after such a good meal.
