Original plan for Suzi's was for the new structure to be mixed use. Suspect that Suzi's will reopen in part of the building. If the food makes you sick or you overeat, you just go next door and take a nap

Scotland Trip

In late August we are driving from southwest Scotland to Southport, England on a Sunday. Planning to detour slightly to pass through the Lake District. Not much time to stop. Probably only afternoon tea somewhere in or near the Lake District. Boltongate Old Rectory looks like it might be a very good option. Anyone have other suggestions?

Nine Days in Glasgow

On a closely related question, we are arriving in Glasgow from the U.S. about 7:30 AM and want to be at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum when they open at 10. We will have a car. Any suggestions for a good breakfast spot that will get us going in the right direction and not get us lost?

Royal Lytham & St. Anne's Golf Club

Has anyone stayed in the Dormy House there or had the dinner in the clubhouse that is included in the room rate? Trying to decide whether to eat dinner there or opt out and choose a restaurant in Lytham. We are only there for one night. The food quality is important, but so is the experience from a golfers perspective.

If we are in Glasgow on a Wednesday and want something close to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery for a casual lunch, what would you suggest?

You sure about the location? Don't think there is a DQ at 620 and Lake Creek.

Any Recent Visits to Wink?

I only went once and left hungry. I'll never go back. In my house we call it blink because if you do you will miss the food.

Wow, they must be completely gutting the place. That means they are putting big bucks into it.

Mother India in Glasgow

Coming from Stirling area and want to have dinner at Mother India. I see there are two locations in Glasgow. Going to Troon after dinner. Any reason to favor one location over the other?

Breckenridge

Thanks for the feedback! Think our 3 meals out will be Lost Cajun on Day 1, Kenosha on Day 2, and Giampietro to go on Day 3.

I'd drive a long way for good BBQ, but not with small children in tow and since we are from Central Texas doubt it would quite measure up

Deviled Eggs

If I wanted to buy some prepared deviled eggs, where would I find some good ones?

Need lunch suggestions for large (11) group including young children. If we go for burgers, anyone have a preference between Kenosha and Empire? Or somewhere else? Other suggestions we have include Gianpietro for pizza (think this place is very small and would have to take out) and Soupzon

Thought a response to your original question might be helpful. A co-worker that lives in New Braunfels suggested http://granzinsbbq.com/.

Thanks Harters. For one time visitors to Glasgow that like to find the great places the locals frequent, would you suggest Ubiquitous Chip over somewhere like Number 16?

Noble Pig Burnet

One of the owners told me yesterday that they have a liquor license pending for Burnet Rd and as soon as it is approved they will be staying open later.

May have found a good answer. Any comments on Braidwoods in Dairy? Appears to be on the way and a very good restaurant

Looking for a nice dinner in the range of $40-50 per person for this summer. Don't want to stray too far from the travel route and anything except Asian or Indian will do, I know we will go right past Glasgow but would prefer not to go into the city center. Does not have to be in Glasgow either. Any suggestions?

Not sure I would classify Cooper's or City Market as lesser known.

I also work near 620 and Parmer. If you want fried catfish, the catfish parlor is fine. They also have good blackened catfish there. Pacific Star has more variety and about the only place in this area to get seafood at a reasonable price. Freda's is another option and is a nicer place than Pacific Star. One nice thing about the Catfish Parlor is that it is fast. The service at Pacific Star can be very slow at times.

It is now April and there is no sign of a new structure. Maybe they mean May 2015. I actually miss this place as it was my go to place for decent Chinese within 10 minutes of home.

Anyone been yet? I love Titaya's but not in the mood to wait in line tonight. Looking for good Asian in the same vicinity. Anything except Sushi.

A little off topic, but I have one better than that. I couple of months ago I tried to get a sandwich from Delaware Subs and they were out of bread.

Prima Pasta on W Parmer has closed. In its place is a pizza place named Mi Pizza where it appears you craft your own at a set price of $6.99. Hard to believe, but it seems you can have as many toppings as you want for the one price. Only extra charge I see is for gluten free dough or vegan cheese. Looked like it was a thin crust pizza.
