Place to buy beer in Bensonhurst
Last time I was there Net-Cost on 18th Avenue had a good selection of Russian and Eastern European brews.

Seeking: German Recommendations On Staten Island.
IMHO Schaffer's is one of the best lunch spots in NYC
King Steaks, Bronx
I worked in the Castle Hill area for 10 years and I can't recall hearing a word about the place good or bad.
Looking for Advice for Ice Cream or Coffee or Yummy Snack Recommendation Along I-287 or Southern Part of I-95
If you're going southbound there's no need for doubling back from exit 9...get off at exit 10 and take 287 north to Rte 1 south...jughandle at Woodward Ave will put you at The Skylark. There are also plenty of Asian options along Rte.1 in Edison. Continuing south on 1 will put you back on the turnpike at exit 9.
McDonald Ave & Bay Parkway area, Brooklyn, for lunch
You're not going to find much at that corner...it's basically in the middle of Washington Cemetery. Going south of 65th Street on Bay Parkway you'll find the usual Chinese and pizza choices...nothing memorable that I can think of. If you've been wanting to check Di Fara you won't be too far...Bay Parkway north to Avenue J and make a right and go about 12 blocks.
scotch bonnet peppers in the north bronx/lower westchester?
I'd look around Baychester Ave./E.233rd Street
Yun Nan Flavour Snack
I have started a Facebook fan group for Yun Nan Flavour Snack... http://www.facebook.com/#!/home.php?sk=group_115062871898155
Best Fresh Pasta In New York
This is the line for Borgatti's (5th store from the corner) right after they opened at 9am on Dec. 23rd...it's like this before Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. It breaks into 2 lines once inside the store...one for fresh pasta and the other for ravioli. Definitely worth the wait.
A XLB report- Grand Shanghai Edison
Judging by the time you posted I'm guessing my wife and I are the other non-Asian couple you refered to...we got up to leave shortly after you were seated...we've been there 4 times since they've opened and plan on trying the whole menu by March. We had the spicy beef and mustard greens noodle soup, spicy seafood dumplings and steamed vegetable buns...all delicious ...imho the best bang for the buck in Edison.
Really Great Bulgarian Feta?
I have to agree with the previous posters...Sahadi's...price is right too
What is the best pizza in Staten Island?
The Joe & Pat's recipe resides on the South Shore at Ciro's 862 Huguenot Avenue across from the train station.
Recommendations for Sunset Park Chinatown
the previous posters have already called it on Yun Nan so I'll just add that the couple that own and operate it are the nicest people
Little Pepper (Xiao La Jiao) report - very good
Stopped by there last week for a quick lunch of Sichuan cold noodles and cucumber in mashed garlic, so simple and so delicious.
A disappointed Difara
I've got to agree that the effort involved takes much of the joy out of the experience. I have my own system for deciding if I should even look for parking. Let's all not forget the main issue here, Dom is getting on in years. Will the public demand for good pizza become elder abuse?
Trader Joe's Brooklyn
I was on Court Street today, TJ's was taking job applications.
New Food Store in Downtown Brooklyn?
I too was downtown today...Trader Joe's is coming to the southwest corner of Court and Atlantic.
My first trip to Arthur Avenue!
There's good produce to be had in the Arthur Ave. market but you have to be there early for the best selection. Look closer next time as they often sell their older stuff cheap....works well for me when I'm making stock.
What's the best diner in Brooklyn?
I can tell you what is imho the worst...corner of Flatlands and Ralph...so bad I don't remember the name.
Serviceable Brooklyn Italian Delis
For my money the roast beef at Clemente's is better than John's. Plus they have it every day.
Flushing - Late night?
I've been eating lunch at the place you've mentioned for years, I believe the name is Cho Zan or something similar. Great place for noodle soup.
Staten Island Pizza
Tay you just said a mouthful regarding the Staten Island dining scene....most kitchens are overwhelmed by the Fri. and Sat. night volume and of course the food and service suffers.
Long Island Fairway: Cheese Caution!
I've only been in the Manhattanville and Red Hook stores and have had basically the same experience. I always bring the reading glasses so I can check the sell by dates on everything.
Best Jersey Diners (Lots good eats, little $)
The Reo changed hands a few years back and it went way downhill. I went twice since the change and will never go back.
Steve's Key Lime Pies and Swingles
I'll second that...B71 on Union to the B61 at Sackett and Columbia. You've got Fairway down there too so it doesn't have to be a one destination trip.
Picky mom in Staten Island: she prefers Asian food, but often claims she can do better...any recs?
Talay Thai is on Hylan Blvd. westbound near Benton. Parking can be a challenge.
Restaurant Supply - Northern NJ?
More central than north but E&A in Plainfield has always had anything I wanted at a good price. Only 3 1/2% sales tax too.
best white pie in ny other than louie & ernie's?
On Staten Island I'm partial to the white pie at Denino's. No ricotta on theirs, just garlic, onion, mozzarella and olive oil.
