Saving & Emailing Recipes
Regan/CHOW folks--Saw the "print" feature is up and running. Thanks! Is it possible to make the icon a little more obvious? Or even put the text 'Print article' next to the icon? I stared at the icon for a few minutes with brow furrowed before I realized, "Oh! It's a PRINTER! I can PRINT!" Looking forward to being able to e-mail and save recipes.
Strange relationship
I agree. Sometimes as I'm cruising around Chow, I suddenly find myself on Chowhound without knowing how I got there (or precisely how to get back to Chow without a lot of sleuthing or back-navigating). It's also unclear to me what the relationship between the two actually IS.
overall look and feel
I was going to comment on this as well. I LOVE all the features--well written, well produced, well designed, and so on. But the overall site doesn't feel quite...user-friendly yet. I often get 'lost' as I am going through pages and lose track of how I got to where I am (and then have trouble finding it again). Sometimes I feel a bit overwhelmed by everything that's going on--like being at a circus with folks hollaring at me from all sides. Is there a more intuitive way to lay out the primary Chow homepage and then the 'homepages' of each of the main sections (Stories, Recipes, the Grinder, etc.)? The individual pages of a recipe or article are fine, I think.
Some other food/eating websites have lists of 'related links' along the side of individual articles--I love that feature and would like to see it here. For instance, a link to the video on cutting up a chicken alongside the recipe for garlicky roast chicken. Or more obvious links to recipes within recipes (see recipe for S'mores with imbedded links to recipes for graham crackers and marshmallows--that was confusing).
Saving & Emailing Recipes
I definitely agree. Being able to e-mail recipes is a must. I'm not a techie-person, but it also seems like a virtual recipe box would integrate well into the MyChow feature.
