In the summer :Spritz in the Northern Italian style with Aperol and Prosecco . In the winter I enjoy sipping Bordeaux.
I really wish I could:
quit my day job and run a B&B in South West France
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
Leg of lamb served with braised borlotti beans and mashed potatoes with roasted garlic and rosemary infused olive oil
My favorite comfort food:
a pot of beans, southern style
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
My favorites change so often, but my all time with out a doubt best ever is La Brinca. I have been known to wake up on a Saturday morning and propose the seven hour drive just to go for dinner!
My most tattered cookbooks:
I tend not to cook from cook books but to get inspiration or basic information. I really enjoy the how to's and the classics : - Larousse Gastronomique, - The Cook's Book: Techniques and Tips From the World's Master Chefs by Jill Norman, -Fanny Farmer, The Taste of Country Cooking by Edna Lewis (beautifully written book), and believe it or not I still look at the original Silver Palate from time to time
