Particularly:
1) Zachary's pizza
2) Top Dog (UCLA had a place called U-Dog for about a year, it tried, but it failed)
Luckily they opened up a couple of Barney's Burgers on the westside!
need Cheap Eats in Long Beach
Taco Loco #3 on Magnolia just passed Anaheim. Best tortas I've had - go for the carnitas or birria. Probably best to go during the daytime.
Persian Burgers in LA/SF Valley?
Purplescout! What a great post! I've been pondering the exact same thing but for some reason I never even though to post my question on chowhound. I've even considered just trying to make it myself, but I don't have much confidence that I could create something with that same flavor. Man I miss Bongo Burger, not to mention many other of those East Bay eateries.

GREAT call. Probably don't want to go there at night time, but that only adds to the charm right? Seriously, this is not only my favorite mexican food in Long Beach, but probably the best I've ever had. The tortas are RIDICULOUSLY good. Carnitas torta, awesome. Birria is really great too.
Go there for lunch, and go next door to the mexican bakery for dessert....
How are the Cheese Steaks at Philly West?
I'm a big fan of Philly West, it has a great "dive" bar feeling, and not quite as manufactured as South Street. On the advice of a post I saw on here a few months ago, I tried out their burger as well, and it was actually a REALLY good burger. It was difficult for me to forego a cheesesteak, but well worth it in the end. Almost reminded me of a Father's Office burger in flavor, but at less than half the price....

Buffalo Wings in N. OC?
Dude, it's all about Buffalo Wings 'n' Things on Beach Blvd in Huntington Beach. Place has been there awhile I think. Cheap food. Also has ribs. Fantastic wings and you can get 'em as hot as you want them. I used to drive by Hoagies and Wings all the time when I was in LA! I'm mad I never tried it.
