Seafood Restaurants with Outdoor Seating in Fairfield County?

I'm looking for some suggestions of recommended seafood restaurants in Southern Fairfield county (Stamford, Norwalk, Greenwich, Darien, etc) with outdoor seating. Preferably something with water views, but it doesn't have to be if the place is a find! It could be high end or more casual, as long as they have good seafood - I'm happy to check out any that are recommended.

Thanks!

Peking Duck in Stamford Area?

I've noticed a couple of message boards addressing Chinese restaurants in the Stamford area, but are there any places that do a decent peking duck around here? I'm having a big craving!

Is there ANY good Sushi in CT???

I just tried Kotobuki in Stamford, and I have to say - it did not disappoint. I was looking for a place that had good sushi, not rolls...just good fresh fish. We asked the waiter what was fresh (as I saw recommended on the board) and he was really honest. We had a great dinner. Fresh toro, yellowtail, king salmon, uni and white tuna. We will definitely go back! I'm not sure if a previous poster on the thread had the king salmon or regular salmon - but the king salmon was great. I'm happy we finally found a good sushi place after looking for over a year.

Montauk Suggestions Needed

Thank you!

Montauk Suggestions Needed

Hello, I will be traveling for a couple weeks out to Montauk with my husband and 1 year old son and I'm looking for a few food suggestions. While we will have a sitter for a couple nights, most nights we will be looking for places that have great food but are also kid/family friendly. We are willing to go to the most casual or fancy of places in any price range...just want great suggestions. I've heard a bit about Harvest and Navy. To people that have been, are these places I could take my son or should we save them for the couple of babysitter nights? As well, I notice that Montauk now has a farmers market, is this worth checking out? Any other suggestions of where we can buy produce, fish, etc for at home dinners while we are out there? Thanks everyone!

The Dressing Room

Thanks for the replies...so my judgement is that it's hit or miss. If the dish was good, it was really good, but sadly many dishes were quite lackluster. The preserved tomato soup and grilled cheese was excellent but the special (beef and vegetable soup) appetizer was so bland that we didn't eat it and they ended up removing it from our bill. Oysters were quite fresh. Mac and Cheese left a lot to be desired (and in my opinion is pretty tough to mess up mac and cheese) but the brussel sprouts were surprisingly very delicious. The meatloaf which was highly recommended as Newman's Own recipe was really tasty, but the vegetables that came on the plate were so bland and tasteless we didn't bother. Also the scallops were highly recommended but they were pretty gross - mushy and on a bed of wilted frisee and strangest of all it came with two and a half scallops. The third scallop was actually a half scallop as if it was cut it right down the center. The meal ended on a very high note - the Toffee Bread Pudding. It was fantastic!

Overall, I'm not planning a return. There are some great restaurants in the surrounding area that I would choose many times over before coming back. Thanks again for your responses...happy dining.

The Dressing Room

We are headed to the Dressing Room for dinner this evening and wondering what the buzz is these days? Any suggested dishes? What should we be expecting?

kielbasa in Fairfield County

Thanks everyone - I ended up going to Pulaski Market - this is the one in Myrna's strip mall. Success! I haven't tried it yet, but they surely had some great variety...and it looks promising!

kielbasa in Fairfield County

Does anyone know a place where we can buy fresh Polish kielbasa as close as possible to New Canaan? Not the smoked or fully cooked kind. We used to buy it at a meat market in the East Village, and I haven't found a place up here to get it yet - and i need it Christmas morning. Thanks!

Source for Black Truffle Oil in Fairfield County?

Try Darien Cheese and Fine Foods. I saw truffle salt there, but i'm not sure about the oil. You may want to call before going.

fresh turkey FFld county

I just saw some at the Whole Foods in Westport today. I don't know the price per pound, but they were Whole Foods label. Fresh, organic.

Buying Fish In or Around New Canaan

Great, I saw fish tales, but haven't been in yet. I will try that first due to proximity. But it sounds like new wave might be the best way to go for me. I have a newborn so any longer trips can be unpredictable. Looking forward to trying them.

Buying Fish In or Around New Canaan

Are there any recommendations for the best places to buy fresh fish or seafood in Fairfileld County, particularly around New Canaan? I've been following some postings that list Greenwich Produce as the best for produce in the area (I used to frequent the one in GCT) and Scott's Corner Market for meat, but any further recommendations would also be appreciated.

Thanks!

Giorgio's Trattoria - UES

A few years back i went to a restaurant on the UES called Giorgio's...from what i recall their was no name outside, the owner/manager would sit at a small bar in the front sipping on a glass of vodka and wine and they had some amazing Gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce.

Does anyone know what happened to this place? Is it still around and the same place? I can't find it online. Any tips appreciated. Thanks!

Where to Eat in Key West

I'll be traveling to Key West for a long Memorial Day weekend with my husband, and looking for suggestions of where to eat. In particular key lime pie, conch chowder/fritters and anything the area is known for!

We're open to different price ranges, just want great, authentic food! Thanks.
