Special dinner - tasting menu (EMP, Corton, Brooklyn Fare, ...???)
Hi, I'm trying to plan a special dinner for my husband's birthday. He loves restos that have tasting menus. We've been to The Modern, Blue Hill Stone Barns, Daniel, ... and are looking to try something new witout breaking the bank (e.g. Per se). I've been put on a waitlist for Brooklyn Fare, but it looks like I still have time to book at EMP or Corton. Would you recommend one over the other? Or is there another place that I should consider? We're new parents and aside from being a special birthday dinner, it's our first date night in a LONG time. Many thanks for your recs!
Special dinner in Rome/Florence for 1st Anniversary and husband's birthday
Dear hounds, My husband and I are off to Rome and Florence at the end of February for our one year anniversary. This is my first trip to Italy, and my husband's second. I'd like to surprise my husband with a special dinner either in Rome or Florence. I saw a few posts of Osteria la Fontanina in Verona, which looks fantastic, but I think it may be too far of a trip for dinner. We would prefer something small & romantic with delicious food. Please help me find a place to celebrate! Thank you!
NYE options??
Hi, my husband and I along with another couple are trying to make NYE reservations. Last year we tried Perilla in the WV which we really enjoyed, but we are looking for something new and not over the top or stodgy.
Based on what's available on opentable.com, we are thinking about going to Knife + Fork, but are also considering Craft, JoJo (Jean Georges), The Modern - Bar Room, and wd-50. We'd like to steer clear of anything new midtown west. Does anyone have any other suggestions for restaurant options? Thanks!!
Rehearsal dinner for 40 in/near Tuckahoe, NY
My fiance and I are starting to look for a place to have our rehearsal dinner for about 40 adults. Ideally we would like to stay in the Tuckahoe area. We like the look and feel of Olde Stone Mill, but are hesitant to book because of all the negative reviews. And having been featured on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, we think a large party there could be disastrous. Has anyone eaten there recently - has it improved at all? We are also looking into Mamma Assunta. Food is good, but lacking on decor. Does anyone else have any other restaurant suggestions in the area?
