Walkers Shortbread Cookies...where?...help?
Odd...I've never seen them...I will look more closely...thanks all...
Pubs 2011
I have great local pub...Bryden's on Bloor@Jane...
The food is great (love the nachos) & the tap list is excellent...all craft beer...
It is pretty busy and a small room though...but the service is good...Sitting on the patio right now in unbearable due to all the construction on Bloor Street...
Walkers Shortbread Cookies...where?...help?
I get theses cookies when I fly Porter...but I don't fly enough to get my cookie fix...anyone know where in Toronto I can buy them?
Thanks.
Can I still get a lunch reservation for Winterlicious, today??
Any ideas as to who is still take reservations for lunch today??
thanks...
French-style Almond Croissants in TO
I used to like the almond croissants at "La Maison de Croissants"...is that what you mean by Heavy???...if so I really miss them...thought they were awesome!!
Tibetan Restaurants - Toronto
What isn't Tibetan about it???...owned by Tibetans...with Tibetan employees...and they serve Tibetan food...just more stylized than most Tibetan restaurants in Toronto...
OM in Montreal is my fave though...again they also serve a lot of Indian food...which now heavily influences Tibetan culture
Sunday lunch in Etobicoke?
Check with Bloom...not usually open Sunday...but I assume they are doing something on Mother's day

Delivery places in Bloor West Village
When they first opened they were part of the IF chain...but they have since left...good on them...now only if we could do something about the Firken & the Dark Horse!!
King Palace
I don't think I would rave about it as much as some of the other posters....but it is very good...especially late night/early mornings when other options are fewer...
I think the location has changed though...no longer down by Sher & Adelaide...it is up near Davenport & Church...across from the CDN Tire parking lot...still open late and lots of cabbies....
Bloor and Jane
As for the review for The Griffin the previous review is bang on...maybe even a bit kind in the review
Amber is great for schnitzel & perogies...
My Place is very good food, but far from what the original poster is asking for when "Preferably inexpensive" is mentioned...$22 fish and chips in a cavernous pub??...curious as to what this place will be like when Brad Long leaves...
I also like Bloom...much better since new ownership has taken over...but maybe still on the expensive side...
If your looking for a sweet fix...Sweet Flour hits the spot...
The Trubador is a funky spot in the Junction that had decent homey food...great if you like music
The best bang for your buck is probably Bryden's...a usual haunt of mine...very good pubby style fare with their own twist on it at very reasonable prices...also easily the best draft selection west of say Victory in the annex...been a staple in the village for over a decade...right at Bloor and Jane

Steakhouse recco & Whiskey Cafe feedback needed...
In Montreal on the 14th and with a a small group of men looking for a steakhouse to have dinner....looking for more upscale than The Keg but anything interesting or must try places will do...all help will be appreciated...
Also any feedback on The Whiskey Cafe at 5800 St. Laurent BL???
thanks...
Old Monk Rum - anywhere?
Sorry dude...had to go to India this past year to get my bottle...
Junction--pub or cozy resto for a group?
Your best bet is probably Axis...it is okay...not my fave but popular amongst the locals...Vesuvious(sp) has good pizza and has a dinning room you can sit in but I\ve only had take-out...it looks nice though...
Where is the best place/pub to watch the Habs in Toronto?
Kilgour's probably has the best atmosphere due to the other habs fans but it is small and the TVs are not so good and the food stinks...
Any bar with the Centre Ice Package can show the habs game...
What part of town are you in???
Quiet Pint in Downtown TO?
Yes I like The Cobourg as well...haven't been in awhile but the pate is very good...warning though the bartender prepares the pate plate and if it is busy then it will take awhile...but it is a nice place to chill and wait if you have the time...
Steak - Not Cumbrae's, Healthy Butcher etc....
Yes I always find the Sterling Silver stuff to be pretty good in the Sobey's...
anyone know a good brazilian bbq place in TO?
There is one on the Danforth just east of Broadview and I think it is called the Red Violin...there was a show and they sat us in the back row even though none of the other tables in my section were being used...I think that best sums up experience...we went last year & it was very expensive for what is basically a buffet...I am not sure if it is still open
I never tried the one up north but the one in Niagra Falls(Copacabana?) was a good time
Affordable West End Resto, Easy Access to Subway
Bryden's is a favorite haunt of mine...its a great little pub with good food...easily the best in the area...but judging by your criteria I would say Merlot is a good choice...less than a block from Royal York station on Bloor
Argh! Low carb diet -- any place that caters to that?
I too have never heard of this place...thanks for posting!!!
Cluck Grunt and Low Review
Went there recently too...so I guess I will also pile on...experienced most of the same problems as everyone else...
One interesting note is that I ate at the bar and overheard the bartender talking about the reviews from chowhound.com to some other servers and diners...when she spoke about it she rolled her eyes a lot and suggested that "these losers should find other things to do with their time"
Kind of sums things up...
New Yorker looking for a good burger...
Personally I love APACHE BURGER...but I don't consider it a great burger...I liken it to all the other burgers of my childhood...I also think the onion rings are great...
Restaraunt Makeover
The RM Town Grill is no longer...as a new owner/chef is there...
