When I was pregnant with my twins my husband brought home a burlap bag full of fresh mussels. I put my toddler down for a nap and we spent 2 hours eating mussels, with butter, lemon juice, pepper and home-made bread. It's a wonder my babies weren't born with shells!
My current drink of choice:
Diet tonic water and fresh lime juice
I really wish I could:
make pie crust -- you have to cut mine with a chisel.
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
Smoked cod pate if I have to bring something somewhere, otherwise a rich beef or lamb stew.
My favorite comfort food:
Miss Vicki's potato chips and Kraft onion and chive cream cheese dip
My most tattered cookbooks:
Joy of Cooking -- used it for everything from basic recipes to science fair projects. My copy is about 25 years old.
