Modern or unique dim sum in San Francisco?
I wont be renting a car. i will mainly rely on a cab or the bart for transportation. I was thinking of taking the bart straight to San Francisco but since Koi palace is closer to the airport, i was thinking of a cab ride over to Daly City as a first stop but im not so sure how good of a plan that is.
Modern or unique dim sum in San Francisco?
Oh you know i completely overlooked the fact that ill have to travel into the city from SFO. Ill give more consideration to koi palace and maybe try mayflower some other day if we are still down for more dim sum. I guess ill do some more searching on Millbrae dim sum houses as well. thanks!
Modern or unique dim sum in San Francisco?

Modern or unique dim sum in San Francisco?

Modern or unique dim sum in San Francisco?
I read many good things about Koi Palace and would love to go there! however dont think my companion on this trip is up for the extra traveling. Mayflower will check.
I also read good and mixed reviews for yank sing but it sounds it bit too pricey for us.
Do you know if Golden Mountain has a good selection of affordable dim sum?
Thanks for the suggestions!

Modern or unique dim sum in San Francisco?
Hello San Francisco! I'm a Boston hound about to take a trip over, and i was wondering if there were any dim sum places in san francisco that served up some new stuff aside from traditional dim sum? Are there any young dim sum chefs out there innovating dim sum and bringing new stuff to the dim sum carts? Like for example taiwanese dim sum or making new creations or variations of dim sum that won't cost me an arm and a leg to eat?
Being from Boston, we mainly only have the old traditional stuff that i still love but would rather treat my tastebuds to some new flavors. I'm not really looking for the best dim sum place, just a more progrssive and good dim sum restaurant that i could try something new.
hope im not asking for too much :x.
Ginger Scallion Lo Mein
Well I'm not much of an aficionado of Ginger scallion lo mein but i had a great plate of it at a new place in Watertown called Wonder Cafe. Nice little bright orange place. The ginger was strong and the scallions were nicely cooked, not too mushy with a nice semi crunch. I personally enjoyed it.
Maybe it'll be a good new place to try for some ginger scallion lo mein if your in Watertown.
J&J Turo-Turo, Quincy
aaawwwwww I now cannot wait to go. I have been wanting to check this place out for the last week ever since reading this thread and your post has just made me want to go even more! I want PORK and that chicken bbq stick sounds perfect to me. Is it chicken butt? because i do love big fat chicken butt and i cannot lie. I do believe i will lay off the fatty foods before i decide to head over though and prepare with some vegetables and fiber before hand hehe. CANT WAIT!
Hong Kong Eatery question
AWWW i drool from the thought of it but if you wake up early enough and beat the crowd, you can find some of the most delicious roast suckling pig and some of the best parts of the meat.
Traditional Korean Food
Korean Garden Restaurant is a good place to go for some Korean food. It will be hot and spicy. I don't know what to recommend but pretty much anything on the menu would be a fun trip to Korea on your taste buds. It is located on Harvard ave.
Another great place where they have the tables for Korean barbeque and a lot of traditional dishes would be Chung Ki Wah
27 Riverside Ave Medford, MA 02155
Your best bet on whats good to eat is to ask your waiter or waitress. The waitresses at Chung Ki wah may be more informed on whats traditional.
The taste of Korean food will be quite the trip. Depending on what you eat, the taste of the food will be a brand new experience for your taste buds so be adventurous.
There is a dish i would recommend but it isn't on the english menu so asking for something special from the wait staff would be good. One of the dishes I crave that is traditional Korean would be a plate with rice cakes, fatty intestines, and rice sausage called soondae. all mixed together. Sorry i don't know the name of it.
Fried Ice Cream
Ginza in Chinatown has an interesting plate of Fried icecream. I believe I have had mine in the green tea flavor. The fried dough around the icecream had a subtle gingery flavor to it that gave the fried ice cream an interesting subtle bite. It is a bit preicey though so i only have it on special occasions.
Super 88 Food Court- Allston
Well since your living in Chinatown, you hopefully have had some good pho and binh mi in the past, so I say skip pho viet even though they have good soup and noodles and hit up The inidian place JMP.
If you haven't had indian food before, it will be quite the experience. The flavor of the food is unique and delicious once you get past the new taste, you may just find yourself coming back just for JMP. Its good for both lunch and dinner. Very filling at a good price.
- If you like spinach, you should try the lamb saag there. Very tasty and not very gamey.
If you want korean, I'd skip Misono and take a hike over to Color at 166 Harvard ave. I love the fried chicken over there drenched in sauce. It is also a very unique experience for your tastebuds. A good small cozy place for dinner.
