The ones at the butcher at Market Hall in Rockridge are pricey (of course) but good.

Lalime's -- small and festive, great food and service.
Wood Tavern -- outstanding food and warm friendly service at the Berkeley Oakland border
Oliveto -- pricey but you can't go wrong there upstairs
Sea Salt. -- haven't been there in a year or so but it was great then
Garibaldi on College - a standby with really good food and service and you can usually get a table there.
Cesar on Piedmont -- casual, authentic tapas, outstanding bar

I bought the strawberry meyer lemon marmalade with rose geranium. Pricey but very tasty.

I'm taking my 17 year old niece to DC for a day of museum-going. Where should we go for lunch? She is a suburban kid who has been to DC many times, but usually lunches at the Smithsonian. I'd like to take her somewhere with a hip and modern feel with more locals than tourists. Budget is not an issue.
