Looking for good eats in Estes Park Area

Just be sure it's the Dunraven Inn out towards the Y camp and not Dunraven Downtown. Two similar named, both Italian, one's worth it and the other's not even close. Head towards the original out of downtown.

best breakfast joint in Toronto?

So how about anything chow-worthy (breakfast especially but others welcome) near the Sheraton at 123 Queen? I haven't seen anything in this thread yet to make me hopeful.

Estes Park in October

Late to the original question but agree completely on both Rock Inn Tavern and Smokin' Daves.

Estes Park in October

By way of a follow-up - there are two (unrelated) Dunravens. Just outside of town towards the YMCA - YES. Downtown - NO.

Boulder - October 8-10

Just need to add that we are big fans of John's. Quiet, intimate and great food.

Best Boulder Restaurants?

Don't forget Johns. Great food and a wonderful, relaxed yet upscale atmosphere.

Anniversary dinner on the Big Island

I've heard that Monette's at the Mauna Kea is good if pricey. I'd think about Merriman's in Waimea (not the Market Cafe in Waikoloa). Have the seared ahi along with some fresh Waimea produce.

Suggestion for a casual place to get a good piece of fish?

Does Pesce take reservations now? A change with the move perhaps?

i Ricchi or Kinkead's for Sunday dinner meeting?

Depends how many people you have but Spezie has a private room that seats about 12. Very quiet. If it's just you and one other, how about the restaurant in the Mayflower? Quiet, good service and decent food for a hotel restaurant.

Dining alone near Union Station this weekend

Real casual but Bistro Italiano on Massachusetts (actually D Street NE - on the other side of Union Station from your hotel) is good cheap Italian. It's quite a bit cheaper than the other (good) suggestions you've had so far.

Tucson - Mexican restaurant?

This really is a "your mileage will vary" question but we love La Indita on 4th. Their menu shows its Michoacan Tarascan Indian heritage and I love the "green sauce."

Hawaiian Grass Fed Beef (Big Island)

I don't have web information for him (try (808) 885-9700 or habein@aloha.net) but contact Rick Habein at Kamuela Pride. He raises grass-fed, organic beef and might be able to tell you who carries his meat. No connection other than a long-time-ago school mate who seems to be doing things the right way.

Pesce - new location?

Has anyone been since they moved ? (I assumed they actually moved). I'd love to have a report on the new spot.

Boulder Decision - Alba or Colterra?

A friend has suggested these two locations - she's been to both and somehow we have never made it to either. Which would you choose and why? As a point of reference, our favorites in the area are Johns, the Kitchen and Empire in Louisville.

Much thanks

Dive loving Foodie coming to Denver - Need Recs!!

There are literally two guys / partners named McCormack and Schmick. McCormack owns a handful of restaurants by himself.

Sushi in Boulder County???

We're looking for good sushi in Boulder County. We liked Sushi Mara a lot but it seems to have gone downhill since Mara left. Driving into Boulder is fine (and I'd be happy to get your take on the various places on Pearl Street) but is there someplace else you really like in the Louisville/Lafayette/Superior/Erie area? Maybe Longmont as well?

Much thanks

Last minute Seattle for Valentines - Help

We're heading to downtown Seattle for a last minute Valentines weekend and all the standbys are already booked (Ettas, Dahlia, Matts, Zoe). Any ideas for someplace downtown that has a chance of having a 2-top open yet still Valentine's date-worthy?

L & L Hawaiian BBQ, Aurora...thoughts?

We'll do L&L on occasion but 8 Islands in Boulder is certainly better and Okole Maluna is far and away the best of the group. It's a nicer restaurant as well; less of a plate lunch place and more of a bistro. Great folks and a great restaurant in Windsor. As a kama'aina who moved from Hawai'i 30 plus years ago, local food can still take me home. Okole maluna is the best at doing that for me.

Aloha

Fresh Fish in Fort Collins/Loveland Area

There is also Fish on (I believe) Oak in Ft Collins. I've never bought fish there but have enjoyed the meals I've had in their restaurant at the same location. www.fishmkt.com

Got anything about Spezie?

A great choice. I hold an annual board meeting at the Mayflower and we often chose Spezie for our dinner. They have a group room but it may not be worth it for 10 people. Good menu, good service, and about as convenient as can be for your evening.

Could Hawai'i have its own Board?

Of course it reflects my interests and where I'm from and now live but:

Hawai'i should have it's own board; the discussions on the "Elsewhere" forum are almost all about Hawai'i as elinw notes.

A Rocky Mountain / Intermountain board as suggested by ClaireWalter also makes a great deal of sense.

Seems like two very logical changes to me.

Chef Greggory Hill ?

OK - I know David Greggory became Hudson but I also thought I saw that despite earlier statements, he was leaving.

Chef Greggory Hill ?

So where is Chef Hill going to end up? Perhaps he's already "there" and I don't know it. His meals have always been on my favorites list.

DC restaurants

Just down the hill on Wilson is Village Bistro (next to Ray's mentioned earlier). Nice, well-priced menu with pastas, seafood, continental meats in a casual atmosphere. One of my favorites in the area.

Best Hotel Bar in Washington, DC

I'll second the Mayflower. Good location, big bar and GREAT bartender (Sam).

El Charro - Tucson - group dinner questions

Thanks - their website refers to "the wine cellar" as a group option. I've never seen that when I've been there so perhaps this is just the back room you refer to.

El Charro - Tucson - group dinner questions

Has anyone had a group dinner at the original El Charro? We're thinking about going there with a group of 30 people and are curious about the setting (wine cellar perhaps?) and service for that size group.

Thanks

Staying the weekend at Marriott Key Bridge, Arlington

Since it looks like you'll be taking a cab anyway, I'd also suggest The Village Bistro - right next door to Rays that has been recommended. Decent, cheap "continental" food - great pasta and seafood dishes.

Casual Breakfast Spot in Lafayette?

If you are having a "meeting" Huckleberries is a good choice and Louisville's right next door. If you are meeting someone for breakfast and just want a place in Lafayette for eggs, bacon and coffee, Chips cafe on the north end of Public Road fits the bill well.
