Thanksgiving in Portland? [Maine]
Think about calling Frontier in Brunswick to see if they're open on T-giving. That would be a great place to do Thanksgiving.
Fore Street prices?
Interesting. Funny how different people can have such different experiences! I've never been to brunch at 555 - perhaps that's a different ball of wax.
But we definitely find common ground on Rabelais!
Fore Street prices?
It would work. But I might gently suggest that if you want them to have an enjoyable experience for $200, you consider the vastly superior 555. I have found Fore Street to have terrible service and merely adequate food. Really disappointing, given its reputation.
EATING IN FREEPORT, MAINE
As mentioned before, Broad Arrow and Conundrum are top choices. Also consider Azure which is a pretty decent Italian place.
Red's Eats in Wiscasset, Maine - Overrated?
Having lived in Wiscasset for a year and living close now, I can say that Red's serves up an excellent lobster roll - fresh, lots of lobster and a good roll. The wait can be long but it really is an experience to go there. "the best" is so subjective it's hard to say that it's the best, but you likely won't be disappointed.
Lilee's in Brunswick Maine
Has anyone been to Lilee's in Brunswick, Maine yet? It's by the same folks who own Back Street Bistro which is pretty decent and Liliee's is supposed to have great burgers.
Best Restaurants around Brunswick, Maine?
It actually does not suck - and I grew up in Houston. Granted, it's not on the level of Pappasitos, or even close, but it certainly doesn't suck.
Best Restaurants around Brunswick, Maine?
In Brunswick:
Avoid Henry & Marty's. Overpriced and not that great -way better food for same $ can be had in Portland. Equally good food for less dollars can be had locally.
I second the El Camino vote.
Clementines
For more casual Mexican try Pancho Villa, which moved recently (still on Pleasant Street, now closer to 295).
Scarlet Begonia's is great, although it can be hard to get a table.
Bangkok Garden is good Thai food for the area.
Renaissance Bistro is good.
111 Maine is good for breakfast and lunch.
Fat Boy is a fun place to eat - a drive in with burgers, shakes, etc.
Also Back Street Bistro.
You missed Sweet Leaves Teahouse, which closed recently - much sadness since it was easily the best place to eat in Brunswick.
Freeport:
The Tavern at the harraseeket inn in Freeport is quite good.
Antonia's Pizzeria is good pizza, but might not be worth the drive solely for eating (but if you're in Freeport, it's worth it).
Azure is a good.
Conundrum Bistro
In Bath:
Beale Street is great.
Mae's is great, and does a great breakfast.
