Doogies to have 2 ft hot dogs again!
Saw that Doogies has gotten Rosol's to make their signature 2 foot long hot dogs and will be serving them again soon. Too bad that even though Grote & Weigel found new owners, Doogies still had to find a new supplier.

Anyone else watch tonight's episode? What on earth was Anne Burrell thinking? Axing Bob instead of the vanilla queen is going to come back and bite her in the fanny. If she loses this season, it will be because of this decision. I thought Bob had what it took to go all the way.

I'm in the US but it's good to know it's somewhere Aislyn. Good idea about stocking up when it's on sale. Sometimes I get the generic version of the Kraft Dinner and the pasta is the same. I'll have to check at the warehouse stores too. Thanks GardenFresh!

Does anyone know where to get the small, thin macaroni that comes in the Original Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner? My 82 year old Mom loves that macaroni and I have to keep buying the stuff and throwing out the cheese mix so I can use the pasta instead of other maacroni like elbows. Thanks for your help!
Macaroni salad
1 8 oz box of cooked elbow macaroni, minced green/red pepper, onion, celery, cucumber, and sweet relish to taste. Combine all with a combo of mayonnaise and ranch dressing.
Could I please get some suggestions for a cold appetizer for backyard BBQ?
Hot cherry peppers stuffed with prosciutto and either smoky provolone or mozzella cheese. Marinated in olive oil and a bit of garlic. Or an antipasta platter with roasted vegetables might be good. Any idea what the bbq meat(s) will be?

I've been looking for recipes from this farm too. I know there was an article in Yankee Magazine about it but don't know the year and The Evening Sentinel newspaper had the recipe for their "pink" macaroni salad too. I have been unable to find either one of these. The couple that owned the business retired. Sadly, no one wanted to keep it going.

My Favorite Bagel Sandwich
Spinach bagel with imported boiled ham, either melted swiss or cheddar, a nice slice of beefsteak tomato and spicy mustard spread on the bottom and mayo on the top. Oh god, I just drooled on myself!

"Pink" macaroni salad is a pasta salad that was made by a caterer in CT a long time of ago. The owners retired and couldn't find anyone who would take over the business, but their food was fabulous, homestyle cooking. It's made of macaroni of course, minced green pepper, celery, cucumber and just a bit of minced onion with a tablespoon or so of sweet relish. It was all held together with a dressing of mayonaise and french salad dressing - that's what gave the salad it's color.
