Need great bakery rec for b'day cake in San Diego ASAP!

Try European Cake Gallery. It is a blank canvas of shaven white chocolate that you can decorate with flowers, candles, etc. It's in Point Loma and my family has been eating their cakes for over 25 years. Most of my family is diabetic, and they absolutely love their Bavarian cake. But just a small slice will suffice. Happy hunting!

Filipino caterer for wedding in Carlsbad

Oh I forgot, how about Conching's? I'm not sure if they cater, but it's good filipino food when you don't want to cook for yourself.

Filipino caterer for wedding in Carlsbad

Filipino Buffet dinner is hard to do, but it is not impossible. It's a matter of keeping everything hot and fresh. I suggest you travel south to find good filipino food. National City/Chula Vista area is best. Manila Tokyo-YUCK! Tita's Kitchennete-Yum Villa Marina-No Comment Red Ribbon Bakery-Good Mango Cakes. My family is in the same position except it is going to be a debut. Good filipino food is usually cooked by the family and not catered in. It's tough though because you have to worry about a lot of other things the day of the event and no one has time to cook. Try Tita's that would be my suggestion. There is also a bakery in that strip mall that makes good filipino breads that you could have at the event. Try Valerio's I think they cater too. For Lechon, good luck, not that many people advertise for that. But they are out there and are well guarded secrets :) Hope it helps.

INFORMATION ABOUT ADMIRAL KIDD CLUB OR NORTH ISLAND O CLUB IN SAN DIEGO

I love Admiral Kidd. I've been to weddings and had my debutant ball there. The food is great. The beef is tender, juicy, and flavorful. The chicken is just chicken. Everything else is pretty standard. It's a great deal since you can pretty much count on paying about 5x more anywhere else for the fare. There is always more than enough, the view is to die for at night, especially with a softly lit room and your guests won't be rushing to the closest mcdonald's afterwards grumbling about how you cheaped out on them for food. The only bad thing about that place is the parking. If your guests do not have a DoD decal and military id they will have to park in the parking lot across the street and take a shuttle over. It can be a bit inconvenient, but it's not that bad. Another thing, they don't have much of a selection colorwise for table settings, so try and get the closest one to your theme.

Good Affordable Korean Food in San Diego???

Looking for a good Korean place that won't break the bank. I like the Tofu House on Convoy, but does anyone have any other suggestions?

Extraordinary Desserts (San Diego)

I love the Extraordinary Desserts places. I do agree, you can get a handful of bad experiences there. Especially when the staff is really young, and its a busy night. The cakes are wonderful, I am very fond of the Truffe Framboise. It's worth it, and the glaces are to die for. This isn't your run of the mill dessert house with rice crispie treats and hard lemon bars. Unless the staff is acting completely inappropriate, then I let it go. But I can understand your plight. Waiting in line to order, then fighting for a table, then trying to enjoy your dessert amongst the constant buzz of people, can be a bit annoying, just do what I do go during the week and steer clear from fridays and saturdays. It's a little more laid back.
