Rhinebeck: Le Petit Bistro
Either the reviewer has never been able to get a reservation at Le Petite Bistro...OR is from Gigi's Restaurant. Unfounded review in any case.
Momiji Restaurant in Rhinebeck (?)
Same owner as in High Falls. THOUGH his new Rhinebeck location is far and above better.
A favorite of mine to recommend is the Tuna Dumplings. A masterwork of art and flavor.
VERY friendly staff and David the owner is often there to greet guests.
You won't find better sushi in Dutchess County.

Mazza in Rhinebeck?
Exact same as Double 0. New owners haven't even changed the menu.
If you like standard issue food at reasonable prices then you'll never notice the change.
Birthday Celebration South of Hillsdale
Call the Artist's Palate in Poughkeepsie. (Also walking distance from the train - Amtrak & Metro North) 845-483-8074. The best in the valley (says the NY Times)...and plenty of room for your party of 16.

Alternative to C.I.A. in Hyde Park?
Eat where the CIA people eat - The Artist's Palate in Poughkeepsie. They change their menu every few weeks and always feature a good selection of local flavors as well as some exotic dishes. http://www.theartistspalate.biz/
Jazz Brunch at Rhinecliff Hotel?
Jazz is great - Will Smith Trio... BUT eat before you go, the food is horrible.
Restaurant at Rhinecliff Hotel
This is what we were met with tonight on our trip to the Rhinecliff. Shameful.
exhausted mom of three looking for a great restaurant for her first date night in a really long time
Artist's Palate is by far the best and most consistent in Poughkeepsie. Fine wine list too.
Restaurant at Rhinecliff Hotel
Haven't stayed there because I live locally but I have eaten there and would support Doreen's previous comments. Though the beer selection is a good one, my Shepherds Pie and my wife's Salmon were BOTH inedible. The service also was dreadful. Once was definitely enough.
