Birthday Dinner recs in Chelsea/Flatiron for this Saturday? She's been there. We're trying to take her someplace she's never tried before. Thanks though! I guess a fun place that has amazing food and a reservation for Saturday evening only exists in my mind at this point : ) |

Birthday Dinner recs in Chelsea/Flatiron for this Saturday? Thanks michelleats! Unfortunately we can't do a late dinner or else my options would be a lot better. Drat my luck for waiting until the last minute to book. I'm hoping to stay at or below $300 for 4 people including drinks. Birthday girl is a little depressed so I just want to take her to a fun environment with really good food. Mood lighting is definitely out. |

Birthday Dinner recs in Chelsea/Flatiron for this Saturday? The birthday girl is turning 25 and is obsessed with trying trendy restaurants but hasn't been to too many because of budget constraints. She loves the decor/atmosphere at Buddakan and Rosa Mexicana (not "trendy" but still) and I need to book a last minute reservation for 4 this Saturday somewhere near the Gotham Comedy Club. She doesn't want to do Chinese because her mom does it better, not sure if other Asian cuisines are out but we have a guest who is sometimes kosher (no pork for him) so we need a nice range of options. Any suggestions? |

Help me find a spanish rest. for tonight PLEASE Have a somewhat picky friend who requested "Spanish food" for dinner tonight. He's Puerto Rican and if we go to a P-Rican restaurant, it has to taste like someone's grandma was cooking. Location wise it must be in Manhattan and no more than $50pp including drinks and tip. Other Latin cuisines are acceptable, please help I've been racking my brain all day! |

Comparable to Pio Pio in taste and value? Going to dinner tonight with a girlfriend who doesn't eat red meat or pork, only poultry and seafood. Pio Pio is our default restaurant of choice because the chicken is great and so are the prices. We are looking for another restaurant of the same caliber, great food at a good value. Only requirement is it must be in Manhattan and not too seafood-heavy as we may have a guest with allergies joining us. Please help! |

Here's the rub: The Atlantic Theater is located on West 20th street between 8th and 9th avenues. Will be attending 2 plays there next month and need some planning guidance. Yes, I am asking a month in advance because I have to cater to some specific culinary issues. One guest in attendance is a vegetarian, one person is allergic to seafood entirely, another person only eats poultry and seafood, no red meat. Will someone please help?? We are looking for something that is within walking distance of the theater that has nice ambiance, what I mean by that is no dive bars. In fact, no bars at all because the vegetarian is a stickler for presentation. Any cuisine will do it just has to be something that can accomodate all of the other ridiculous requests. Please help!! |

Hello, An old friend wants to get together for a very laid back, casual (shorts acceptable attire) dinner tonight. Any suggestions? Would like to keep it under $30 pp (not including drinks) and basically up for any cuisine (except seafood, allergies pose a problem.) First location of choice is west side 30s to 50s but willing to travel for something really stellar. |
