Spy Museum /Thai Food

Thanks for the heads up, we are going to try Roal Thai

Spy Museum /Thai Food

I don't remember whether I have been to Ruan, I have eaten at several spots in Wheaton and they were all good.......Back about 25 or 30 years ago there was the Thai Hut, with the BEST
Thai food ever, they used to be in Wheaton.

Spy Museum /Thai Food

Celebrating my 68th, going to the Spy Musuem, and we want some Good Thai food.
Any suggestions?

Thanksgiving @ Rosa Mexicano

Wanted a different type of Thanksgiving, so my wife and me decided on Mexican at the National Harbor.

We both ordered Rosa Mexicano's take on traditionla Thanksgiving food,
Started off with a wicked table prepared quacamole, very good, fresh. Served with
good tortilla chips, and wonton wrapper size flour tortillas. Two salsas one green and one red
Apply a smear of quac, some salsa, and inhale....good very good!
We had Turkey two pcs of white 1 pc of dark, served with a very good and spicy Mole sauce.
Stuffing, with a strong tasting sausage, ok not my favorite. Mashed potatoes with chorizo
along with carrots, and turnips, carrots were way over cooked. Margarita's were excellent.
Split a house special desert, a small muffin, with cranberry sauce, somewhat dry and forgetable. Overall it was an enjoyable experience, If i did it again, and I would. We would
have just eaten traditional Mexican food. Great view, pretty good service. Go just for the
Mole sauce

Peter Lugar Steaks Delivered

I always wanted a Peter Lugar steak, Don't travel that much so I thought we would have some overnighted as a treat. Invited a couple of friends over. Heated up the grill, salt and cracked black pepper. Put them on a high heat for searing, about 6 minutes a side.
These steaks are 2'' thick and about 24 oz ea., turned the heat down and cooked them to a medium rare., I must say we were disappointed, I was expecting a more tender piece of meat, the taste was good, but not great.....I mean it was like any other steak.
Did I cook it the wrong way? It does say broil them. I am sure plenty of people out there
have been to Peter Lugars....Did I do something wrong, Is the meat that is shipped the same as in the restaurant? At $ 50.00 per did I expect too much?, oh yes they were strip steaks.

Why is it so hard to get spicy Chinese and Thai food in the DC Area

For me its all about relationships with the owners/servers, most places untill they know that you really understand what spicy is will serve you the right down the midddle stuff.
As stated they have to be careful, after all Americans are well....................

Bethany Beach

Mickys on route #1 all you can eat crabs, shrimp, fried chicken
fried chicken is pretty good, crabs ok, shrimp overcooked (steamed)

Worst Beer Ever?

Nothing fancy about bad beer, the worst ever for me was a warm (because I drank it so slowy) Carling Black Label, I was 15 at the time, It took at least 20 years to like beer after that!

What food find still haunts you - that you had once and haven't found since?

Hot and Sour Beef Salad at the Thai Hut in Wheaton Md from the early 80's, it gone of course but I have my memories. Or about the Hot Steamed spicy blue crabs from Popes Creek Md....You know the way they used to taste!
