Thanks for your reply. We have returned from our trip but want to express appreciaion for all the above good suggestions. We dined at Walker's Drive In, Nicks and Parlor Market and thoroughly enjoyed each of the meals we had there. We would never have known about them if it were not for the recommendations.

We will be in Jackson next week and are looking for suggestions for dinner that will be a contrast to what we are used to eating in New England. We would like to be at a place where we might choose from some Southern dishes and some universal "standards" prepared with a Southern flair.

We will be sharing a mutual anniversary with friends of long standing and are looking for a special dinner destination within an hour drive from Fairfield County. Two suggestions are Winivan in Morris and Thomas Henkelman at the Homestead inn in Greenwich. I would appreciate any feedback about either one of them and advice about how costly dinner would be. We understand neither is inexpensive!

I will be visiting the Bruce Museum tomorrow and would like to have lunch with a friend who is meeting me there after taking the train from NYC. We would prefer a salad, sandwich or brunch type food rather than a heavy meal miday. Any suggestions?
Dinner after Goodspeed matinee
We had a wonderful dinner last night at Brasserie Pip. An usual corn soup preceded a tender steak for my husband while I enjoyed fluke ( a fish I had not had the pleasure of eating before). We could not resist a lemon dessert made with lemon cake, lemon curd and a meringue.

We actually did go there. Menu selections sounded better than they tasted but we were grateful for the ability to make a reservation and dine without a long wait in pleasant surroundings.

We will be traveling from Bridgeport to Boston leaving at aroung 5:00 PM and would like to stop for dinner on the way. We are interested in dining along or near I-84 - not at a fast food place but don't have time for a lengthy and lesiurely meal either. Suggestions in the Manchester or Wallingford area perhaps?
